Gorgeous mature Zin... clean and smooth, with plenty of fruit left. Showing some age, a little fit of earthy, tobacco character, with some nice spice notes. Wish I had more.

Mature, spicy, cedar box, brambled fruits. Great nose, long finish. Just a certain lack of depth in the mid palate. Nice but I have had more profound from Ridge.

Rumors.of the demise of this wine are quite unfounded. Delicious, mature Zinfandel. Bricking around the rim, but still dark in color, nose of plums and crushed raspberries, tannins melted away. Fruit and acidity in balance. This is why the Ridge ATP list is a personal favorite. Bravo! So sorry it's my last bottle!

Reddish/Ruby color to it. Nose of raspberries, wet earth and cherries. Juicy Zin with the red fruits predominating. Somewhat of a hollow mid-palate. There was just something missing. Going towards a med length finish with some fine tannins still left and plenty of acidity to balance things out. While this was OK, I’ve had much better from Ridge.

Slightly astringent -- but then we were too impatient to wait for it to breathe (or to decant); Daughter Kim says "grass"; Son-in-law - "smokey"; I am leaning towards "woodsy berries". We are enjoynign the wine -- but having it with the experience of meeting the new grandchild gives it a leg up.

This is still drinking quite well, and was best after an hour. Does not quite have the depth or complexity to hold this much longer though. 1 or 2 stars. [85?]

I think this is past its prime. Nose is spice and berry. Tannins predominate, with fruit that appears to be faded. Interestingly, the wine is still quite red in color but it is light for a zin, none of the darker purple often seen in zins. While 15% in alcohol, it seems to come across lower on the alcohol scale. Paul Draper recommends drinking by '09 but I think he is being optimistic.

Ruby red color. Cherries, cranberries, spicy oak, pepper, brambles on the nose. Full body with ripe persistant tannins that coat your mouth and crisp acidity. Mixed briary berries, spices, and oak on the palate. Lingering finish that starts with sweet berries but turns a bit too oaky on the finish. Some additional cellar time will probably smooth out the finish.

Wonderful mouth feel, velvety. Hint of tartness. The fruit is getting mature. I intended to drink this wine with dinner but it would not have paired well with a spicy, tomato-based pasta dish so I opted to let it set and enjoyed it while lounging later in the evening. It held well in the glass. It has a lingering taste that is very pleasing. Overall, I wish I had more to enjoy.

15.1% alc...100% Zin...Real upfront fruit, with a porty indication in the background...super soft in mouthfeel, nice acidity, ripe fruit in a wide wave over the palate. Very friendly and pleasing. This seems to dictate consuming over the next 3-4 IMO.

15.1% alc...just off the truck this last week, 4 days rest...dark garnet, even at the rim...nose of prunes, roasted nuts...this wine starts out just brooding and black, then turns into a pruney, nutty concoction, thicker than I usually like my Zins, lacking acidity. Interesting wine, not necessarily equipped for food. I'm just not in the market for these types of zins anymore - and usually Ridge avoids this to my palate. Can picture this after dinner with nuts, cheeses?

Strawberry jam, plums, a bit of mushrooms on the nose. Smooth palate and nice finish.
