This was my fourth bottle but first in about 4 years. An excellent purchase at $18. Crazy. This wine does seem to be leaning out. I am going to grab another bottle to asses but this is certainly a higher acid wine with soft red fruits. Should probably be drank over the next 2 years.

Bottle number 10 is the best bottle so far. The fellow who used the phrase "muddled fruit" was pretty accurate. The wine has gained some body over time and has settled down a bit by losing some its sour cherry profile. I'm going to wait a while for the next bottles.

Beaune-Themed Wines (Ardeo - Washington, D.C.): medium purple color. cocoa powder and blackberries on the nose. fruit on the nose and palate is much darker than the rest of the pinots in this tasting. a bit of alcohol, but the blackberry and loamy flavors keep it in check. maybe a bit young at this point.

Cracked one of these last night, along with an 07 EW Eola-Amity bottling. Both were very reticent at first, nose and palate. However, the Eola-Amity came around rather nicely. Not quite thin, but very ethereal. Not quite bitter, but with bracing acidity. The WV bottling veered slightly into the negative side of both the thin/bitter quality. The question is what is the upside to these wines? Do they have more in the tank? Or should I have consumed them all within the first year? I have 3 more of each so I suppose I shall find out . . . these are certainly not everyone's cup o' tea, sort of on the anti flavor wine elite end of the spectrum . . . .

A bit less fruit forward and more minerality than 6 months ago--seems to have pulled together well. Flinty nose. Sour cherries and cranberries with a bit of spice box on the finish.

Dark magenta hue in the glass. This has lots of funk and managed to out funk the 2007 Cameron WV drank alongside it. Lots of barnyard on the nose with dark fruits lurking behind. Well balanced with some plums and a touch of earth on the palate.

Very nice. Slightly better than a few months ago. Fruit seems to have setttled down in favor of a more "steely" mineral component which aids balance. Delightful nose of cherries and rocks.

appears cloudy cranberry color, smell dust and cherries, bit of earth, very inviting nose, taste solid fruit, hi toned at first, then sweet and spicy, eventually earthiness comes through, very admirable wine with food, performs better than the rice noodle and black-eyed peas stir-fry I am having it with, beautiful with food, crunchy and delicious, yum

My first “at home” and “in bottle” tasting of a 2007 Oregon pinot. A very nice way to start. This smells delicious. A bit grapey but very nice and pure. Big aromatics. Nice attack and slightly vacant in the middle and back. This is a pretty wine focused on purity of fruit. Doesn’t show much complexity. The fruit in nicely sized at the front while the finish is more earthy and flowery. Glad I got a bunch of this. At $18 this will bring years of pleasure. Kudos, Thanks and continued support to Russ and Mary. Wait 6 months for the next bottle. Should be fine for 3-6 years.

Drunk a couple of glasses at Legend after trying 1964 Haut Brion. Bright red fruit, elegant, but will need to try another bottle as I did not really get a good chance to evaluate.

bright cherry: fresh as a new cut lawn and with just a hint of mushroom cooked in ghee. Great fruit and perhaps this will come together more, further down the road. As of today, the short finish leaves one with the feeling of a promise only partially fullfilled.

Excellent QPR, the wine has aromas of wet earth and raspberry lemonade and the taste is fairly complex given the price with a nice tart brite light berry flavor and a bit of spice to keep it interesting.

So the Evesham Wood 07 WV was popped today at the family Thanksgiving feast. I don't have detailed notes as I was more focused on the social aspects than the wine. I will say this bottle did not dissapoint. Nice red fruit and minerality on the nose and palate and was just awesome with food (turkey roasted in the Weber with sage butter and a touch of hickory and applewood smoke). I found the wine to be supple, balanced, and suprisingly complex for the price tag. Much better than the 06 and compares favorably to the 05 that I also really enjoyed. Will be interesting to track this bottle as I consume the rest over the next year or two . . .

Seems like it is getting better as time goes on. A steely mineral nose. Nice tart red fruit with some spice.

Real flinty / mineral nose. Bold red fruit but not a great deal of acidity so it seems a little flabby.

Not the evesham style I've come to love. This bottle had muddled fruit, even a bit extracted feeling. Fine wine, though nothing to get excited about.
