What a beautiful wine. It is mellowed out with a smooth finish that comes with a slight tannin. You can still taste a bit trace of the fruit without overpowering tertiary development. Really nice showing if you are not hoping for a fruit bomb.

Fully integrated cabernet. Elegant nose, solid but not heavy fruit and a superb finish. Got better deeper into the bottle. Best wine thus far in early 2012.

A great staple Bordeaux blend from one of the greatest winemakers in California. It is a wine with that distinctive California Cabernet herbal mixed with fruit nose. It has a great deep and rich flavor (and color) seldomly found at this price point. It's drinking wonderfully now and seems to have many more years of enjoyment ahead of it. It was even better and more put together when drinking the second half of the bottle on the second day.

Opened and let it sit in the bottle. At the two hour mark the wine was sour, big tanins, I thought it was corked. As the wine sat in the glass it began to open up, became drinkable but nothing special. At the four hour mark after opening, I had it with NY strip steak with cab reduction sauce, the wine had improved significantly but was a bit overwhelming. The bouquet was smoky, maple syrupy, aged oak. In the mouth, you could feel the alcohol, in your face syrupy fruit, and an aged earthy feel to it. There is no syrah in the wine, but you could easily think this is a Mollydooker two left feet type wine. I had high expectations for this wine, the wine definitely needs to mellow out with time, though I am not sure if I like it at this point to believe it will suit my taste down the road.

Just needs some time. Good fruit, with dark berry and a hint of chocolate. Tannins not bad for a young wine but 2-3 years could be superb. Had a glass on second night after opening, a smoother nicer finish. Worth cellaring for the price.

dark purple, minimal brick edges, still with lots of dark fruit, not much in the way of secondary character, nice finish, years still to go

This wine is growing better with age. Deep dark dark red, lots of depth, one great wine.

Still a very young wine, but believe it will develop into a great one. Deep dark ruby, cherry and slight hint of vanilla, high in tannins

"Cab-in It" Seminar Tasting (Macy's on State Street - Chicago, IL): Cab-in it at Macy's on State Street with Johnny.
Ruby color. Cassis, dark cherries. Very young but kind of approachable with a lot of decanting.
Tons of dense tannins. Nice structure.
