Ruby hue. Nose of raspberry, cranberry, floral notes. Initial attack of slightly candied, reigned-in red mulberry and raspberry fruit on the tongue which gee in persistence. Smoothed tannin and nice acidity. Turned more oaky as the evening progressed. Moderately long finish. Very nice but a bit too much oak for my taste.

My first Morning Dew Ranch and what a winner it was; even better than when tasted at the tasting room in March. Really pretty color: medium ruby w/pink-purple overtones, similar to WesMar. Complex & intense nose w/flowers, spices, raspberry-cherry fruit, even some chocolate notes with time. Such a delicious nose that I was hesitant to taste it, figuring it couldn't possibly taste that good too. At first the wine seemed to show a deceptively thin & light mouthfeel, followed by a smooth and velvety midpalate with a nice impression of cranberry-raspberry fruit. A bit of drying tannins and excellent acidity served to amplify a very long finish of more fruit and spice notes, even a slight hint of sweet raisins which Woodenhead seems to be known for. Excellent now, but even better in six months.

Now this is the best Woodenhead Pinot I've tasted. A really lovely, aromatic, concentrated, and elegant Pinot that packs plenty of punch. Red cherry and blackberry, with earthy overtones, minerals, spice, and flowers. Pure and linear in the mouth, with each element standing out yet also coming together in harmony. Long finish. A-

Although this was a big ripe wine with a fairly full mouth feel, it did not wear me out. Pushes the limits but an interesting wine. Smells of plush ripe fruit with oak and slight dill. I get pleasant dill at the front and middle of the palate. Lots cherry fruit and a bit of spice. Overall nice balance. Medium acid and light tannin. (90-91 pts)

Still a great wine. Holding in there with no dramatic age issues. Great tasting wine mow or could have held another couple years.

Big and unabashedly fruity, with wild red fruit and a hint of spice.

Big, fruity Pinot with balanced acidity and structure. Great food wine. Still has lots of life in it. Would love to try it in another few years.
