Mature, but not over-the-hill, this has tart berry and moist earth flavors and aromas. There is an element that reminds me of the 2007 BH Syrah Deux Vert, perhaps due to stem inclusion?

Nice and elegant, secondary and still a bit tannic. Sous bois and some black cherry in the background and a bunch of spice (maybe from 90% whole cluster??).

Not giving away much. Drink sooner rather than later. Blacker fruit, tea, a little spice, a little forest floor, low tannin, medium to low acidity. Easy to drink, but not to love. Hoping for a little more depth. Might be the vintage as I recall 2007 being leaner, but my experience is limited.

Tart cherry juice, brambly herbs, and just enough acid to make it seem sprightly. This is the sort of wine I could drink all the time. Brilliant. 12.5% ABV, but full of life.

Under screw cap...this is really nice. It is absolutely ready to drink. It has simple and pretty red fruit, spice, and some autumnal dried leaves/forest floor qualities. Quite nice!

Medium ruby with a bit of funk on the nose and a tingle on the tongue on opening. Dry, lightly tart fruit, some cola and has a woody mineral element with smoothly integrated tannins.

Opened and left to slow ox for an hour. Small sample showed light garnet color and funk on the nose. Palate was off as i had just finished some tomato soup.
Two hours later we paired it with duck breast, wilted spinach, mushroom, pecans and whatever else my wife put in it. The funky nose remained and was very pleasant. The palate was light fruit and a little tart. Went very well with the duck. Very AFWE.
Medium garnet with orange bricking rim, light funky conac nose. Dry lightly tart metallic mineral, medium restrained fruit. Soft acid, aged ripe Italian plums, cranberries with light fully integrated tannins. Well balanced and a joy to drink if you like AFWE style wines.

Light ruby with a bricking rim, funky nose with stems and lavender. Tart cherry, berry with some effervescent notes on the PnP. Lighter body and fruit with lightly tart tannins on the finish. Some barnyard and forest floor in there, mushrooms and brambles. Tart red fruits emerging with some air. Time has rewarded patience to those likening a restrained style with a dose of red hills dirt.

Tasting note from May 2011 at Biggio Hamina: the Momtazi never to be seen again, a pity: pale purplish red color, stemmy qualities, grip, liked this a lot.
Again the lighter BH style pinot - here you really feel and taste the whole cluster, which adds a nice herbal streak with a bit of bit. If anything, it's a bit much for the delicate fruit here. Maybe a phase, maybe it won't totally come into balance. Nevertheless, delicious with halibut and root veggies.

Weekend Before Thanksgiving in the Willamette Valley, Oregon (Oregon): Dark cherries and holiday spices appear on the nose. Both scents deliver the flavors suggested and the cherry flavors linger well through the finish. Some lighter acidity contributes well to a clean and even mouth feel. 88+

Echoing jasonh's notes - intriguing vegetal/earthy aromatics paired with a silky texture and light-medium weight. On the palate, nice combination of fruit and spice lurking beneath the steely structure of whole cluster fruit. A little weird right now, but with lots of potential a few years down the road.

Oregon Trip 2008; 12/4/2008-12/5/2008: Whole Cluster to the max. I guessed 60 but it is actually 90. I really liked the aromatics. Nice spice and vegetation but you have to like WC. Nice texture and flavors. The fruit is underneath the WC at this stage. Nice rusticity. Look for this in 3 to 4 years.

PNP. Fully mature. Black cherry and raspberry. Moist earthy and sous bois. Fresh, tart cherry finish. Drink now and over the next five years.
