As a burgundy I give this wine an 88, when compared to just Bourgogne level burgundies I would give it a 92. The price is outrageous for just a Bourgogne but the beauty of this wine makes it worth it.

fragrant, with a whiff of berries and cherries, it's ravishing with a long and pleasant finish. remarkably good for a Bourgogne rouge, justifying its stout bottling and (fairly) stiff price.

With my eyes closed, this could be a chambolle. What a nice wine with every component on the right place. A brillant, and not deep colour, a classy pinot nose and and a very elegant mid- and aftertaste. More approachable than the chambolle-musigny I recently tasted and therefore more pleasing at the moment. Enjoy the wine this year and next year on the fruit.

This is a solid burgundy. There is nothing unique or special about it but it has lovely color, good fruit and mild tanins. It is very drinkable at this stage

Subdued nose with a slight bloody feel. Nice delineation and structure with moderated fruit and a hint of spice. Good balance. A bit narrow and square, but overall a solid AOC Burg and really enjoyable.

What do you wish more in this Vieilles Vignes? A pure and nearly soapy bouquet, a balanced mid- and aftertaste with at the end a perfect small bitter. Blind tasted you can think of a very well made Chambolle-Musigny. The wine is very elegant and build on a combination of pure fruit, modest and very well integrated wood and refined power. I advice drinking this wine in 2009/2010 to be sure of the present balance. A small masterpiece!

Color lighter and more translucent than the 05s. On the nose, forest (evergreen) red cherry and some black cherry with some sous bois. A hint of dairy, but only a touch. Also a touch of rusty nails after some air. Medium intensity. Nice fruit on the palate. Round, with mostly red cherry and some dark fruits Slight mineral/bitter finish of about 20-30 seconds. Very nice bourgogne.

Very nice stuff. It took about an hour to open up, but after it did, it showed nice cherry fruit - ripe, but not candy like. It smoothed out as the night went on. I really enjoyed it.
Had it with leftover ham.

Punching well above its weight, great qpr, little hollow on the mid palate but certainly wishing I had more...
