Very balanced wine with good structure and tannin. Full bodied and medium to long finish. Has some sediment to the bottle. Lacks delicious factor but still a bargain wine for the price.

Opened this Sat and let it decant for 30 min. The bouquet is really complex and shows a wine of structure - berries, leather and some wet wood. On the palate, less weight than you would expect for the alcohol and the bouquet but still nicely structured, tannins already rounded but still there to keep this wine at this peak for about 1 or 2 years. So I disagree with CT's estimate of a longer life. Great wine for the buck and for the mid-week.

Good. Dark, inky purple. Nose of bramble, spices and cedar. Palate of blackberries and herbs. A very nice wine with food. Not an exceptional cab, but drinkable. <Wow/Very Good/Good/Fir/Plonk>

very dark, not clear, with light rim and long legs. nose: very ripe black currans plus some other sweet dark fruits, nicely round with very pleasaant oaky hints. really attractive. taste: substantial accidity, some hibiscus tea in the finish. Well, drunk some previous vintages of that and were more thick, mild and with chocolate finish - so this one was a bit surprising.

Medium garnet colour. Nose has some green herbaceouss aromas along the black (blackcurrant, blueberry) and red fruit (cherry) fruit and cedar, aromas of medium intensity. Palate is of medium weight, has flavours of lean black & red fruit along with coffee, toast and green peppers. Lean wine with some tannic and acidic structure and good typicity. Not the most easy going of wines but I enjoyed the fact that it does not want to be a crowd pleaser and goes instead for varietal typicity.

Not much that hasn't been said already. Bought this for $12 in the discontinued product area at the LCBO so it was worth it. Don't think it would have been worth the original $20

Popped and poured. Delicious vanilla nose, but not exaggerated. Sweetish, pleasant smelling. Good tannin bite. Licorice. Medium length. Exceptional QPR.
Bacon rolled pesto filled chicken breasts were not the greatest match.

dunkles Rotbraun mit hellem Rand, mittlere Viskosität; N: intensiv, dunkle Beeren, leicht gereift, komplex, Cassis; G: setzt sich dezenter fort, gut stützende Säure, geringer Körper, Tannine eher gering etwas unreif, langer Alkoholischer Abgang; - ich werd ihn mal ein bisschen atmen lassen

I was not expecting much of this wine, after a number of aussie reds in the $15-20 range turned out to be disappointing recently. But I was pleasantly surprised. After 1-2 hours decant, it turned out to be a very pleasant accompaniment to curry lamb.

(on opening) cassis, mulberry and chocmint on the nose. Blackberries, mint, licorice and pepper on the palate. Chewy slightly green tannin with reasonably length. Good QPR wine.

color: dark purple; nose: blackberries & oak; taste: medium-body mouth feel, jam and licorice, medium-length spice clove tangy finish and tasty tannins; overall: tasty and coherent package, displays a reserved character that's better with food than by itself, reasonable QPR ($14)

Textbook Cabernet aromas, herb, cola, currant, and wet stone are a touch high toned. Juicy and tangy, and very green tasting. This is the Anti-Aussie Aussie, stripped of the characteristic richness and extract found in most Barossa reds. Uninspiring but quaffable.

Ok, it´s not Chateau Margaux, but even so, this is a really good vine and it would if you look to the price. I will drink this wine again. Thats all I have to say.

Consistent with previous. Dark rich purple velvet. Not opaque, but semi-clear. Really nice mix of dark skin plum and berry fruit with some cedar and vanilla action as well. Cannot say enough about what they do for this $15 price point. Just try to find something this good from Calif at the same price point!

Deep red tyo purple and nearly opaque. Very rich an loucious!! Really a nice value bottle with steak or grilled fare. Not over the top, and the finish is not spectacular, but nice even berry adn Cherry fruit with a little oak. Nice crowd pleaser to have on hand.

Popped and poured, initial nose had some vegetal scents, after some time in the glass blackberry and some cedar and cloves as the veg blows off. The palate is dark fruit and some nicely blended oak with a bit of mocha/chocolate. Not as smooth as I would like but probably needs some more time in the bottle. Day 2 has smoothed out a bit on the finish with almost a slight cherry/licroice flavor at the end.
