Better than expected. Body was light, good color and clear. Dry, light fruit, not much on the end but start to finish very pleasant. Ideal as a starter.

This was a pleasant surprise - I poured this before a nice surf and turf dinner. Good color, clarity and body! I thought for sure it would be brown and light. Not too much going on but the approach to finish was nice - soft, light cranberry among other berries.

Drank at a wine club. Paired with Iceberg lettuce salad with blue cheese and oven roasted tomatoes. Paired against a Freestone 2006 Pinot. The club agreed that it was a tie.

Interesting, dark Pinot Noir with good initial taste on front of palate and better finish (than most). It opened up after 90 minutes, not too complex, balance was okay.

Ripe, mainly red forest fruits. Quite much acidity which makes the wine surprisingly fresh. Pity the wine does not offer more complexity. Ready now, no hurry.

Lovely clarity with a faint hint of brown on the edge. Clean forest strawberries, cherries and violet aromas with some earth and black radish. The palate is more restrained and needs air time to reveal itself so be patient. There are juicy raspberries with caramel syrup from the oak and fine tannins; blind tasters cited red bonbons. The acidity lingers and the length is medium.

Tasted at a Joseph Phelps portfolio industry tasting. Raspberry, vanilla, spice and a touch of earthiness on the nose. Medium bodied. Smooth red fruit up front, but the finish was really poor- like a flat piece of limestone, but lacking the essential mineral and acidity that comes with it.

A good Pinot but not great for the price. Pleasant and drinkable but lacking complete balance and the harmonious finish of a better Pinot. Big fan of the their Freestone label

Pleasant to drink, but no complexities. Nose was floral with red berries and those flavors carried through. No acid or tannin to make me think it will improve with age.

Brought this down the street for a block party with Tamales. Everyone enjoyed it. It was very dark violet color. It had a nose of berries and potpourri spices. It was very pleasant and I am glad I have 5 left. I am not big on Pinot, but this was nice.

Genka Wine Fair: (tasting in gen.ka wine fair) Beautiful cherry color. A fruity nose with a bit of chocolate. Very tasty with well made tannins and a sweet chocolate aftertate. Good.

Dark ruby with bluish hues. Nose continuously evolvong with aeration, showing plumms, berries, cherries, vanilla and hints of smoke. Mid-bodied with ultra-fine tannins (one of the signature characteristics of almost all JP wines), rich fruit and nice acidity. Round, fruity and elegant. Long finish. I guess this will gain in complexity with mid-term cellaring although it is already very attractive. Not up to the quality level of the chardonnay.

I was pleasantly surprised as well. Plenty of fruit on the nose. Not a lot of depth or complexity, but just a very pleasant, drinkable wine. Alot of red berries. The tannins were soft...no bite or burn. Nice.

For some reason I wasn't expecting a lot but was pleasantly surprised. I also got cherry and a bit of strawberry but with some nice tannin on the finish to add balance.

Cherry juice nose, with a hint of funk that blew off after a few minutes. Light-medium bodied, cherry taste, good acidity...bit of copper on the finish. Served with rotisserie chicken. Looking forward to drinking the two remaining bottles.

Opened this bottle and this did not taste right. A bit sour, minimal fruit, just not the same wine I tasted multiple times at Joseph Phelps. Will not rate until I try this again.

50+5+11+16+7 Great nose of strawberry and bing cherries, as it opens you'll also find some vanilla hiding. Tart cherry and tangerine in the mouth with a long finish of cherry and a slight hint of olives. Balanced acidity.
