Opened and let slow ox for an hr. Drank over the next 90 min. Air certainly helped. Spectacular nose. Baking spices, touch of vanillin, red cherries, hint of orange rind. Good balance. Some development, with hints of tertiaries emerging. Really good now.

Much better than previous bottle. Spectacular nose. Baking spices, touch of vanillin, red cherries, hint of orange rind. Good balance. Some development, with hints of tertiaries emerging. Makes me wonder - should I cellar my remaining bottle for an extra year or two?

Nice nose of sweet, ripe, black fruit. Less appealing palate, sadly. Perhaps going downhill? Lack of acidity hurts; also, a bit clunky and disjointed. A bit cloying, perhaps due to the acidity deficit. I assume this was better 2-3 yrs ago?

Lots of dark fruit upfront. Nice spice. Has a meaty aspect. Had a glass the second day and lost some fruit. More earth came through. Should pair well with grilled meats. Would probably go ahead and drink any remaining bottles.

14.3% alcohol. This has settled down nicely in the past couple years. Black cherry color. Pretty bouquet of black cherry, blackberry, earth, and some floral notes. In the mouth, plush and well-textured, with forward, dark Pinot fruit and good layers of earth, spice, and floral notes. The acidity and back end structure are quite well resolved, making this really a good drink now. A-

Pop and pour and followed over three hours. First had a glass; re-corked and tasted some three hours later. Quite earthy nose; light in color. Spicy and perhaps a bit too earthy. Shows some heat as well.

14.3% ABV. Translucent red garnet in the glass. Aromas of roses, earth, and stemmy spice on the nose with background cranberry-like fruit. Medium bodied with brown spices, strawberry, and pomegranate. Medium finish. Somewhat dry and earthy style.

14.3% ABV. A second nice showing for this wine. Translucent garnet with just a hint of tawny in the hue. Spicy cinnamon nose. Fairly rich black cherry fruit. A suggestion of stems and/or oak midpalate. Good.

14.3% ABV. Translucent plum/garnet with clearing rim and just a hint of tawny. Somewhat spicy nose of cloves and cinnamon. Rich, somewhat sweet attack of black raspberry and black cherry fruit. Fresh, sappy bright fruit with a suggestion of stems and/or vanilla oak in the finish. Nice concentration and balance. Quite good.

Sojourn Release Party (REEF Houston, TX): More color than the sonoma coast bottling. Much more aromatic than the sonoma coast as well. More dark fruit influence and vanilla creme on the nose. The mouthfeel was fuller and once again darker fruit but still some cherry cola. Tannins were barely noticeable on the finish. There was a step up in ripeness from the previous bottle.

A bit more closed up, giving more reticent black cherry, blackberry, and plum fruit. Light structure behind this wine. Tasty and easy drinking. B+
