That was a great bottle (Magnum) and probably my best one until now. The wine needs air (decanted for 1 hr). Dark cherry, cassis, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, dark chocolate and cedar. Tannins left but well integrated. The wine will keep this level for another 5+ years.

Together with 2007. I am writing after my 2007-notes. I must say the 2006 is coming closer. Decant?!? However, very good wine at the 90-border. Further impression by tomorrow Day 2: big step forward. Needs air. Decant. 90+ Can hold its form but wouldn‘t wait another decade. On top.

Deep garnet colour. Notes of unripened green apple with underlying prune core, strange as that sounds. Not where I like my reds. Some darker mature fruits with a menthol liquorice thread.

Last time I noted on this I suggested leaving for a while, so eight years later we tried it again and there is still plenty of life left in this wine. Prune and liquorice on the palate, some tannins but not dominant. Somewhat short on the finish.

Praelum - South Africa: Then and Now (Praelum Wine Bistro): Deep ruby with garnet fading edges. Strong herbal, twiggy, meaty aromas. Acidic and tannic, with intense twiggy flavours, grass, paprika, blackberry, raspberry, tar, and charcuterie. Fair length

Very nice, fruit, power, bell pepper wood, very nice structure/backbone and spices. Long live ahead. Perfect to grilled meat. Not really memorable but nice

Sunday Funday 1: Dark, opaque brick red. Clear. Moderate plus intensity in the color, compact rim, and no sediment. Wine breathed in bottle for 3 hrs. Very interesting nose, never would have guessed a Bordeaux Blend. Starts off with chocolate filled with alcohol. Lots of black cherries, vanilla, baking spices and dried fruit. A little savory on the palate and drying. A tad sweet too. Moderate body with moderate tannins (6/10). Texture is kind of like sand paper. Long finish. Nose was a little of putting for me. Would love to try this with more air time.

The wine was dark ruby in colour and threw some sediment. It offered dark fruit, chocolate, cedar, leather, tobacco, spices, cinnamon and vegetal notes on the very cedary nose. On the palate the wine showed sweet dark fruit, black currant, plum, chocolate, cedar, tobacco and spices, with medium to medium-plus acidity, medium-plus tannin, moderate heat from the alcohol and good length. The concentrated, full-bodied wine was reasonably balanced and drank better than the bottle I had about four years ago. Paired well with steak. Drink now through 2020.

not quite convinced by this wine - has it knitted together completely? I suggest leaving it a while yet - sweetish fruit with just enough tannic backbone but short on the finish

Platter tasting (By UG): Beautiful deep bouquet with sweet fruits, mainly cherries and cedar. On the palate also mainly good very juicy cherries and some dark chocolate. There is quite much sweetness and soft tannin. Medium long finish.

Decanted for about 1 1/2 hours. The wine offered cherry, sweet dark fruits, cedar and liquorice on the nose, after further aeration also marzipan, and spices on the backend. On the palate, the wine showed currant, dark fruits, cedar, and lots of tobacco on the finish. The wine was full-bodied, chewy and well structured. However, the alcohol was out of balance and all in all the wine could have been rounder. I will allow my remaining bottles another year or two in the cellar.

Nice aroma of cola and cassis. Taste is spicy cassis with some nice tartness/brightness in the mid-palette. Great mouthfeel and very approachable tannin levels. The finish is the real treat here with a long spicy finish that eventually ends on notes of bitter coffee/chocolate. Tasted before and during a dinner that included a dish with prominent tellicherry seasoning, which seemed to bring out the spice in the wine. Great bottle and should continue to improve.

Deep purple in colour. Powerful nose of black fruit, plum, oak, spices and pepper. Fine tannins and very smooth in palate. Has very concentrated and intense flavour. Good structure and long aftertaste. Recommended if you prefer powerful, intense and fruity wine. Would be better if it has higher complexity.

Very dark cherry and chocolate nose - seriously kirsh style nose. Light dark dust in the finish.
Dry mid palate - dark, dark cocoa chocolate with a hint of salt.
