Longitud media.

Slightly sweet, nice floral notes, some acidity. This years Mumm did not bring anything special to the table but remains a nice champagne, a little overpriced in my opinion. 85 rating.

NobleRottersSydney - Marg River & Great Southern (Fix, St James, Sydney): {diam, 12.5%} [Kim] Fairly neutral nose of white flowers, squash, gentle rockmelon. Not much yeast influence evident. Palate suggests the bare minimum time on lees. Clean, white fruit, verging on neutral; perhaps a gentle hint of citrus. Light/medium weight, medium/large and fairly aggressive bubbles make the palate. Crisp, crunchy aperitif style.

Very good, pinot noir and minerally driven NV champagne that most people dont understand. Updated label design so the bottle was very young, disgorgement date unknown. Fun to drink, no need to wait here.

Paid a stupefying $1 for this obviously old rag-tag bottle of isht. It's a pre-barcode bottle with the cork imprint: I-59EM. or 1-59EM or 1 59EM or 59EM
Looking at the PDF at https://www.tysonstelzer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/The-codebreakers-guide-to-unlocking-champagne.pdf I feel, there has to be better intel...
I don't think it was degorged in 1959 as there are still bubbles and it produced a small "plop" as I removed the cork. For the first time in my life, the Champoo-cork came apart... The lowest layer of cork crumbled upon opening. And even the oldest set of Cavas I opened (30+ years, 10 btls) never showed that issue.
Amber. Dark Amber. A lot of old apples in here. Actually makes me think of a recent Entre-Deux-Mers from 1998 I enjoyed recently, with a bit of fizz to it. Brown apples galore.
However, the multilayered acidity is a different cookie. I don't think this was ever a very good wine, but given today's new customer contract and all... It has A LOT of brown apples in it. But also that beautiful high acidity that isn't from immature fruit. Like what the love of my life does even better: Muscadet.
This has medium length. Medium everything, except from M+ acidity and MEGA brown apples...
I award this 90 points.

Date of degorgement unknown. Bought in May 2022. Light yellow with lively mousse. On the nose lemon, apple, nuts, ground almonds and vanilla. Juicy, fruity; applejuice, spice, sweet pear and litchee. Very agreeable!

Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and Aube with Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, Sézannais, Vitryat and Aube, and Pinot Meunier from the Marne and Ardre valleys and the Montagne de Reims.
Pale gold to the eye. Aromas of white flowers, crushed chalk, freshly baked biscuits, and blanched almonds. Managing to tread a fine line between richness and freshness with peach, nectarine, and apricot.

Gourmetklubbens femtiofjärde middag (Södermalm, Stockholm (P+A)): (Bottle from the early 1990s) Deep golden yellow colour with a pleasant nose showing lime citrus, roasted coffee and some minerals and opens up with butterscotch notes and some tarragon in a delicious way. Pleasant acidity on the palate with red apples acidity and with a creamy and butterscotch touch going through into the finish. Leaving a pleasant minerals saltiness on the lips. Much better than the normal cuvée. (Still drinking very well with 30+ extra years cellaring)

Wonderful NV champagne. Bright and fresh, with an energetic core of stone fruit, juicy citrus, minerals, and brioche complexity. Fine mousse, crisp bead, and excellent persistence.

Straw yellow. Sizeable mousse. On the nose, lemon peels (can describe also as lemon meringue), marzipan, brioche, apricots. On the palate, frothy bubbles, creaminess, med + acidity, some astringency. Short finish.
Average grandes marques champagne at best. Other better options for the same price, if not even cheaper.

(Disgorged in the 1990s) Light yellow colour with lots of bubbles rising in the glass and a nose showing incipient maturity with hints of citrus, butterscotch in a lovely way. Nice and pleasant yellow apples acidity and with a citrus zesty bitterness on the finish. With the extra post disgorgement time the dosage has integrated perfectly giving focus on the minerals on the finish. Took some time to open up and needed time in the glass.. (Drinking very well with 30 years extra cellaring)

not that much of a champagne, despite its brand and worldwide awareness. After a long bike ride alongside Muzza, Bascapè Certosa and Pavese, than back on the Grande. Well paired with shrips and then plain strawberries

Nose of lovely ripe fruit: apricot, yellow apple, pear, lemon, mango, and plenty of autolytic notes. It walks a fine line between rich and fresh on the palate. Like an apricot danish in a glass. The acidic freshness lingers on the palate but the flavours come up a bit short on the finish.

I have drunk this wine numerous times over 40 years or so. Occasionally i like it but most of the time it is just a light bodied sparkling wine with no real character or impact.
This was the first bottle I’ve tried with a new label and I was hoping it was a new wine too. No chance. Light, innocuous and simple. I suppose it won’t offend anyone as there is not enough taste to do so.
I sometimes wonder how Mumm manages to sell this for more than $10 as that is all this rather tasteless wine is worth. Oh well.

This bottle has been sleeping in my cellar for almost six years. It was time to uncork it. I’ve recently been drinking this champagne, mostly in restaurants, and the difference with this bottle is huge from the beginning. First of all because it can be recorcked everytime. This old label bears witness. That antique gold colour, those small but persistent bubbles, that aromas of lemon and meringue pie and that delicious texture in the mouth adding the acidity of old lemons. It is complemented by an extraordinary length and a tasty and evocative aftertaste. You can’t ask for much more considering what it really is. My surprised friends, delighted with that change happen. Happy New Year!

Finde de Clasicones; 10/15/2021-10/18/2021 (Madrid - España): Saline bottle with an intrusive bubble that needs to be removed into glass. Aromas of green apples, herbs and unripe citrus fruits. Simple and very direct denoting an insulting youth. Also on the palate is excessively acidic, it gets to burn in its passage through the esophagus, without a real structure but with persistence and a delicious aftertaste. Better with food. As always at this restaurant, unbeatable price at 40€ since at least five years.

The type of champagne I don't like. Light yellow with big bubbles making it feel angular in the mouth. Nothing creamy about it. The minerality that should be there left me with a bitter aftertaste on my palate. Probably better with seafood, but just not something to have by itself as an aperitif. Couldn't finish the bottle.

While I can absolutely see why others enjoy this champagne, it was something of a disappointment in our household. That being said, I did enjoy the smoky mineral aspect of this particular cuvée but there just wasn't enough there to back it up. For lack of a better word, we found it a bit "meh".

{diam, 12%} On the lighter side, with citric and grapefruit characters - very chardonnay-like, medium sized bubbles, not a lot of yeast character, dry and crisp, but not terribly distinctive, I must say. Finishes fairly short. Ho-hum.

Retail $50. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier. Tasted blind. Pale straw with perhaps a slight golden tint. The nose here is slightly richer with more peach than pear, and not really any citrus on the nose. But there is plenty of fresh-baked croissant goodness here. Plenty. The palate has a subtle sparkle, but plenty of tartness and that autolytic quality that comes from time on the lees. Rich, deep, fantastic. thedrunkencyclist.com
opened on a long-hoped-for day of celebration; to our dismay, in the bottle there was no pressure and no effervescence -- the cork practically fell out -- and the champagne was spoiled

82. Disgorged November 2018. Unripe peach, pear, some lemon, white pepper, some minerality, no creaminess. Good but I'd spend a few more dollars for the yellow as they use more reserve wine and the base wine is on longer.

Simple on both nose and palate, but reasonably good if adjusting for price ($29). Still, I’d rather pay a little bit more and get a Champagne with a bit more complexity, or buy a good Cremant - there are excellent options out there.

I last tasted this January 2019. This bottle was from the exact same 6 pack and I left it in the wine fridge for 15 months to see if it would improve. Previous bottles were very ordinary, more like a cheap sparkling wine than a well regarded Champagne. Well, this bottle had more depth - soft gold colour, apple, citrus and toasty nose, with pleasant fruitiness, brioche and mineral characters on the palate. Yet it is still a rather simple Champagne best drunk as an aperitif. It was pleasant but I still see no reason to buy it unless it is heavily discounted.

Excellent fruit. Aromas of white and yellow peach, candied lemon, apricot, yellow and green apple, strawberry, and ginger. Moderate autolytic notes of brioche and sweet butter. Dry (however the fruit makes it feel slightly off-dry). Medium length. Medium+ acidity. Very good NV champagne.

I bought this on a whim as it was discounted and I was hoping to be able to say that this was a decent prospect at a reduced price (£20). Unfortunately it was overshadowed by Piper Heidsieck NV, Laurent Perrier NV and Taittinger NV, some of which can be purchased at the same price.
According to Mumm's website, this spends 20 months on the lees, more than the minimum, but significantly less than its peers. It shows.
Reliably good Champagne. Good yeast autolysis character, well balanced, only lacking a bit in complexity and elegance. In the end, you have to admit this is well made for such a large scale production

The new clear plastic label (not very environmentally friendly!). Very pale lemon colour. Bright nose of lemon and biscuit, lime and a touch of musky vanilla. Similar flavour profile, plenty of lime and mild bitterness. It's fine, quite classic, albeit unremarkable, though not worth the usual price. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Sainsbury's, on offer at £20, usually £32].

This bottle looks like a recent release. Nose is quite floral on opening, settling with air into a more honeyed and biscuity mode. Palate is fresh and high-toned, finishing with a short-lived but satisfying richness. All very correct, but there are no fireworks here. A good candidate for serving only lightly chilled as the aromatics are rather tentative.

I drink a lot of Champagne, having lived in balmy Singapore for 9 years now. This is one of the worst NV's on the market and even my Chinese friends (who know very little about wine) complained that is watery and rather tasteless. The colour is a very light straw yellow, with a nose of lemon and toast, but little on the palate other than a slightly sweet citrus character and chalky acid. I opened two bottles at a BBQ and while they were swilled down fast, the group was disappointed. I still have several of these in one of the wine fridges so will leave a few years to see it they develop more depth. As for the moment, there are many NVs that are miles better (eg, Roederer, Billecart, Perrier Jouet, Moet, Veuve Forny, Bollinger, Piper, Victoire etc. So why bother with Mumm?

Deep amber-orange color. Powerful, brooding and heavily oxidized nose with aromas of mushroom, bruised apples, some peanut butter, a little bit of condensed milk, light pickle-ish aromas of reduction and a touch of rancio. The wine is dry, full-bodied and completely flat on the palate with somewhat oily mouthfeel and tertiary flavors of caramel, baked apple, some stony minerality, a little bit of burnt sugar, light umami notes of dashi and kombu and a touch of saline minerality. High in acidity. The finish is long, dark-toned and oxidative with brooding flavors of caramel, some mushroomy umami, a little bit of kombu, light bruised apple tones, a hint of burnt sugar and a touch of tangy saline minerality.
A very similar experience to my previous taste of old Mumm Cordon Rouge: the wine was both times flat and oxidized, but unlike so many old and dead Champagnes that have been completely in pieces, this managed to offer relatively much pleasure despite being so badly over the hill. Not really a classic Champagne anymore, but an enjoyable oldtimer anyways.

Aromas of lemon tart and Sunday afternoons. Light in the mouth with a crunchy juice showing harmony to flavors of tangerine, brioche and white peach. Long-ass finish marked by terroir-driven chalkiness. If I could afford it, I would drink this with my breakfast cereal every single day.

I give up on this wine. Mediocre is all I can say. The Mumm Brut Prestige is more interesting than this. Lemon, subtle spice, dough and chalk. A bitter finish. While Piper Heidsieck is crushing it on the N.V. side these guys need some help. Thank goodness I only paid $22 with tax and it is not even worth that.

Short note. Had this bottle for about ten years in my cellar, and this was just on peak now. Maybe slightly better than previous bottles, but still not among any of my favorites. Simply lacking complexity and weight, as well as being dull and mainstream, mass-produced, without any soul or excitement to be found.

Pale yellow color with lovely tiny bubbles and the typical fruity taste of this Champagne. Nice acidity and balance, lacking only in depth and nuance to bring it a higher score. Moderate finish. I am a bit of a champagne slut, but interestingly I have much more familiarity with Mumm Napa than I do with the mother ship, G.H. Mumm. While the Napa version was born of the French original, it has long since been sold (several times). As for the "original" this is a solid champers: bright fruit and acidity, fervent sparkle, and lingering finish. Sure, there are more complex champagnes and sparkling wines, but this is solid to the core, and worthy of its heritage. Bravo! thedrunkencyclist.com

Doesn't offer a huge amount on the nose. Well rounded, almost fat on the front of the palate, holds flavour well through the mid-palate, with a very nice creamy finish with some pleasant toasty notes. A nice smooth champagne, with pinot noir obviously dominant.

At restaurant st. James of Juan Bravo street in Madrid, where it begins to be a kind of tradition to lunch arroz abanda every October. A year later and Mumm continues at 40 €. A bargain for such a classy restaurant. Once removed the rough bubble champagne transformed into a decent vinous structure. Memories of green apple and varied citrus on the nose. This time it stays a bit short in the mouth although it is refreshing by its fine acidity and leaves a pleasant aftertaste. At that price, always a success. Dosage 8 g/l.

Half bottle, purchased at a closeout price. Delightfully surprising quality, with lemon, yeast, concrete dust, and limestone gracing a vibrant frame. Also showing interesting steeliness. Lengthy and zippy finish.
Jaggerfest 2017 (Harwood Arms, London): Older bottle, probably late 70s to early 80s with bling gold-flecked foil. Old gold. Curious nose initially, very funky mushrooms and lactic, though it does brighten up. Mint Aero on the attack. Finishes quite well after a mid-palate dip, and shows some spide on the vinous finish. ****

Bottle purchased circa 2014 and received as a gift. Light nose of white flowers. Tart mid-palate with some citric acid, general yeastiness. It's good, yet disappointing compared to other Mumm bubblies I've tasted, and, at this price point, I'd go ahead and spring for Moët.
Toasty nose, bruised apple, not super pronounced or complex. Palate is toasty, brioche, pastry, honeyed apple, pear, preserved lemon. Nice, not much depth though.

Color: Light lemon yellow. Mouth: Fine mousse. Less bubbles than usual. Bready aroma and something fresh like lemon. After a while I also can taste a hint of pineapple, vanilla, marzipan, hazelnut and caramel. At first this champagne was a little bland but has gained in expressiveness and complexity while breathing (0.5-1 hour or so). This might be another hint that champagne is worth cellaring and even decanting. Dry. No residual sugar can be felt. Just the right amount to make it round. Pinot Noir (45%), Chardonnay (30%), Pinot Meunier (25%). Residual sugar content of 8g/l.

Refreshingly despite the poor quality of the bubble. Yeasts and nuts, lemon zest and feelings of merengue on the nose. Still very primary. Really long enough for what it is. Vinosity-like that really convinces me. I am totally convinced that this champagne can age beautifully for four years from purchase despite not indicate any dégorgé date on the back label. Very well priced at restaurant St. James in Madrid (40€).

A better showing than last time. A little darker. From the same case as previous bottle but seems to be showing more signs of age. Slight biscuit notes with some lemons, less acidity and seems a bit more rs than last time too. More pleasant to drink, probably paired with better food this time is why. Finish was medium. A nice basic NV champagne.
New bottle style. Green-tinged light straw. Citrus, red apples, minerals, and a kiss of vanilla waft from the glass. Fresh and lively, elegant and lissome, vivid flavors and ample complexity. Flaunts good tension, pin prick bubbles, a nutty mid-palate, and orange peel on the focused finish. Crisp, refreshing, and satisfying.
Clear to pale lemon appearance, with a persistent bead. Drank out of a plastic semi flute, so bubble dissipated kind of fast. Not too many intense aromas, typical young NV traits of lemon, some sweet biscuit over time. same lemon, citrus, a bit of orange and some pretty decent acid. Body was medium minus, almost slightly watered down compared to other champagnes and didn't really have much length to it. But for a cheap NV champagne, not bad. Didn't go too well with the Rabbokki, but not complaining for the price paid, and decent on a picnic.

Darker yellow color in the glass. Rather unpleasant nose of cork; did not improve with taste. No crispness and little effervescence, leaving an unpleasant aftertaste. Since I'm the rare out-lier, I assume the bottle was spoiled. Stored in a wine refrigerator but on the cooler bottom shelf at 45° angle (so I could view the pretty label) and the cork may have dried-out (I now keep corked wines on their side, shouldn't make any difference for screw-tops).

This was a relatively old bottle, purchased back in 2011 and has only been stored in the Euro Cave for about the past six months. Had definitely lost some of its carbonation, and was a rather dark yellow - almost amber - in color, but was surprisingly delightful to drink. Not nearly as sweet as the Cordon Rouge normally is when it's young. Very rich in texture and quite complex. Alluring notes of almonds, apricots and brioche linger deftly on the long silky finish. Unusually delicious and complex for a NV Champagne. 50+5+12+17+7=91

This bottle was within one of those "gift packs" with a couple flutes, long forgotten by a friend so it was probably 25 years old. Surprisingly light color (med straw) immediately out of bottle but quickly darkened to color of an old white burg. Still alive with appley nose, spices; very soft fizz with few bubbles. Surprising complexity for a bottle I was sure would be a dumper.

Visual appearance Nice, fine straight pearls Color is very pale, straw
Nose Almost no nose A few hints of minerals and apples No smell of yeast
Taste A very clear hit from the apples Sweeter than other choices gives a hint of honey No tannins Strong acidity
Finish Very short, tends towards sweetness before showing a bit of minerals but not pepper more on the bitterness side.
Summary A decent champagne, but less exciting than the brandname suggests Worth £20 but not more. A utterly decent champagne but with a limited body and a very short finish not worth the £33 retail price

Medium body, modest flavor but exceeds the average champagne in these aspects, velvety texture, persistent fizz, Beautiful nose. Crisp but not tart, suave but not sweet. Vanilla, dried apricot, citrus, caramel, gooseberry. Accessible and very pleasurable.

Excellent. Pale lemon colour. Fine bead. Citrus and biscuity nose. Lemon, biscuity, stone fruit and apples on palate. Toast and minerals. Finishes clean, dry, and long. Classic. Maybe pinot noir dominant. December 2015, New Year's Eve.

Lovely wine, far improved over previous years. Florals, hint of sweet citrus and lees, fresh and inviting. Palate mirrors the nose, with lively delicate stone and red fruits and florals in balance with an acid backbone. Good crisp finish with lingering fruit flavours and moreish acid. Mumm is finally mmmm. 19/20

I have never been a Mumm Cordon Rouge fan but this was an extraordinary bottle that I know is at least 6 if not 10 years old and has been loitering in a dark corner of my cellar. Fine mousse, focussed flavour of crisp apple and a backbone of wonderful minerality. Zesty acidity. Seems to have lost a lot of its (from memory) confused marginal flavours with bottle age and is a lot better for it. Excellent but unfortunately not as the wine would normally be found!

I bought this for $20 on close out and that was a great deal. The wine is well made. Maybe not the most mind-blowing Champagne I've ever had, but really good even at $29.99.

Champagne - 100 Vintage and NV Champagne; 12/15/2015-12/15/2020: Nose of apple, pleasant bakery, some lemon on the finish. Very bubbly on the palate giving me almost a feel of an effervescent vitamin tablet in the mouth. Not on par with the better NV Champagnes.

This is one busy bubbly. Flinty stonefruit, lime, and quince aromas. Bright, fruit flavors lurk beneath a tiny, energetic bead, rocking acidity, and a salty minerality that hints at baking soda. Finishes fresh and full of vigor.

Once again a solid performance and a lot better than expected. No idea on discorgement here but the wine in general felt well tound, good balance and a nice acidity profile that gave a nice vibrant character. a very good 90

From the appearance of the label we estimated this bottle must be from the late 70's to mid 80's.
Deep bronze color. Rather sweet, Tawny Port-ish nose with heavily oxidative aromas of bruised apples, chopped nuts, some caramel and a hint of smoke. The wine is full-bodied, crisp and sharp with racy acidity and quite lean flavors of something metallic along with flavors of tart citrus fruits, some tart green apples and a little bit of nutty oxidation. The wine has gone completely flat. The finish is steely, tart and acid-driven with heavily oxidative flavors of nuts, caramel, tart green apples, some chalky minerality, a little bit of syrupy caramel and a hint of lemony citrus fruits.
A wine that has gone downhill for quite a while. In a sense this is still relatively enjoyable and shows great structure that would make it pair well with lighter dishes, but overall the wine has pretty much oxidized and lost all its fizz. Still drinkable, but nothing that you could rate as an acceptable wine anymore.

Not as fabulous as I remember, but still nice. Bubbles much bigger than I remember last time. I guess last year's 1970 Dom ruined my palate for Mumm. :-p

Grapes sourced from 70 different Crus all over Champagne. A blend of Pinot Noir (45%), Chardonnay (30%), Pinot Meunier (25%). 25-30% of the blend is older reserve wines. Aged for 30 months in bottles with the lees.
Greenish lemon yellow color. Quite rich, sweet and very fruit-forward nose with aromas of honeydew melon, ripe red apple and some peachy stone fruit. No noticeable autolytis here whatsoever. Dry, but quite soft and mellow on the palate with surprisingly low acidity. Flavors of red apple, cantaloupe, peach and some lemon marmalade with a light hint of autolytic toast. Almost aggressive mousse. Rather short and somewhat bitter finish with more acid-driven character and slightly brighter flavors of lemony citrus fruit, green apples and a hint of chalky minerality.
I've never considered Cordon Rouge to be a Champagne of any distinction. Actually, I've never considered it to be particularly good at all. However, this time the wine was a disappointment even by Cordon Rouge's standards: the wine was really soft, dull, quite short and full of sweet, candied yellow fruit character. This wine didn't have any of the hallmarks of a good Champagne, but instead of something made in California or Australia and sold for 10 bucks. I wonder if the wine was based on some hot, poor-quality vintage or if they've just changed their winemaking style towards this simple, sweet and really fruit-forward style with no structure to speak of? At 41,90€ this is a rip-off.

Very different from previous bottles I've had. This is much younger, from a newer vintage. Less sugar, without being dry, and loads of more tart apples and lemons on the palate. A bit out of balance and simple.

NobleRottersSydney - Christmas Lunch 2014 (Greg's place): {cork, 12%} Mild yeast and cheese nose. Very chardonnay on the palate; delicately lighter-bodied, with medium-sized but delicate bubbles. Short-medium finish. OK but not great.

Pale gold and big bubbles when first poured. Apple and not a lot else on the nose. Soft and creamy in the mouth, apple fruit, some sweetness on the finish. Overall, just OK.
Not my favorite standard Champagne. A bit too simple & overall uninteresting. Bred, brioche, some yeast, orange and biscuits on the nose. On the palate sweet lemons, apples & orange peel. Rather short and thin, lacking complexity.

Very nice champagne in the fuller, more expressive mode. If I had to tag its style to something more expensive that would be NV Pol Roger. Not a follower of this wine but have heard report that Mumm has stepped up it's quality recently and this bottle sure feels like that. Dosage give a little bit of weight but not really apparent sweetness. Not long but does have a little bitter almond note that carries it to a decent enough finish. Good food wine - not exactly an oyster and shrimp Champagne but matches really nicely with salty appetizers. Excellent qpr at the $28 I paid.

A quite boring, mass produced Champagne this is. Short, thin and rather uninteresting and uninspiring. Still, not bad either. This works better outside on a sunny day by the pool as a hang around with good friends Champagne as a thirst reliever, than as a Champagne by a set table when eating a good seafood platter. Nose and taste similar to previous notes. I should have picked another Champagne for tonight’s valentines dinner with my wife, and saved this for the poolside when summer comes around. Bad choice.

A passable and enjoyable bubbly with decent balance and structure but lacks the complexity of australian sparkling wines in a similar price range. Pale straw colour. Bouquet of apple with a sharp twist of lemon through the middle. Medium long finish. A very fruit driven champagne. Drinkable but uninspiring.

Tropical fruits, spices, pie crust and chalk. Palate is a bit bitter and lacks the fruit of the nose. Not as balanced as I would like to see for a $30 offering. Not in the league of the Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Sparkler which is half the price. Pass.

Greenish lemon color. Somewhat muted nose with sweet, almost candied aromas of yellow fruit, vanilla custard, some almond paste, a little stony minerality and a hint of yeasty autolysis with no noticeable autolytic toast character or nuttiness. Dry, crisp and acid-driven on the palate with fresh but quite one-dimensional flavors of pithy, graperfuit-driven citrus, some chalky minerality and a little yeasty autolysis. Fine and generous mousse. Really crisp and taut, almost unripe finish with a lot of grapefruity citrus fruits, Granny Smith apples and hints of yeasty French bread.
A crisp and structured, but flavor-wise very uninteresting, one-dimensional NV Champ. Lovely brightness, but that's about it. Lacks spirit, depth and character. Works well with a wide variety of lighter dishes, but so do many other sparkling wines for a third of the price. Might get better with a few years in a cellar, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Obviously overpriced at 42,90€. Not recommended.

Green apple, citrus, bread, and very subtle mineral notes. Nice acidity on the palate with citrus, yeasty bread, and a nice mouthfeel from the mousse. Finishes a bit short, but overall not bad. I would probably rather pay the extra $10-12 to get something like Chartogne-Taillet or Jean Milan.

This was a part of cellar deal. This is at least 20 year old bottle and very pleasant surprise. The color is dark gold. No hint of oxidation, sweet fruits, honey and a hint of anise. There is lovely apricot note that I get from an old grave blanc. Still plenty of bubble that is surprisingly fine. Lovely complexity that resulted from slow aging. A good lesson in cellaring champagne at all levels.

A "love it or hate it" Champagne, this has always been a favorite of mine. Although a Brut, it is not particularly dry and is just a bit sweet. Shows plenty of ripe and juicy pear, apple and honeysuckle flavor with a hint of citrus. Soft and round, with a mild acidity. Not over-carbonated. A phenomenal value at just $28 if you happen to "love" this style. 50+5+12+16+8=91

I do not have much experience drinking champagne, so this TN needs to be evaluated within that context. This was a decent bottle, crisp and sharp, but not overly so. We drank it slowly, and it did not seem to change much through the bottle. I would be happy to drink this any time.

Served quite chilled, as this is where it's at it's best. Aromas are nice and typical, with some lemon, tart minerals, and a bit of saltiness. The aromas are also slightly sweet, perhaps expressing a light tangerine note. The palate is textured very nicely, as its bubbles are quite fine and pleasing. This shows some tart acid, light lemon, with a slight vanilla notion that gets a bit oaky as it warms up. But cold, it's actually almost cutting with its acid and sweet melon fruit. The finish shows more rocks and tart minerals, saline. Decent lingering flavors.

7.5/10 - Citrus notes with some vanilla. Light - medium bodied. Decent, especially for a non-vintage and compared to other more expensive counterparts. Lack of acidity makes it easy to drink for most, but also may mean lack of oomph for some. Tasted at winery after tour in Reims

It is a given, that with NV Champagne you run the risk of bottle variation, especially with large houses such as Mumm. This bottle was outstanding, fresh and creamy, with lemmon, vanilla and the perfect amount of yeast. I've had other NV Mumm's from the same case, that were not nearly as good as this bottle. There are no great NV Champagne's only great bottles of NV Champagne.

Popped and poured. Light to pale yellow-gold. Fruit forward nose of stone fruits, ripe apples, and just a touch of yeast. Medium-light body. More fruit on the palate, along with just a touch of yeasty biscuit. Not very complex, but well-made for a mass produced Champagne. I personally find the sweetness in this one to be a little bit cloying, not enough acid to keep it balanced. However, this Champagne does provide the rudimentary pleasures that any competent bottle of bubbly will provide.

Longitud media.

Paid a stupefying $1 for this obviously old rag-tag bottle of isht.
It's a pre-barcode bottle with the cork imprint: I-59EM. or 1-59EM or 1 59EM or 59EM
Looking at the PDF at
https://www.tysonstelzer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/The-codebreakers-guide-to-unlocking-champagne.pdf I feel, there has to be better intel...

Opened a bottle at Hai Di Lao (Seletar Mall) tonight over dinner with my spouse and sister-in-law.
A very basic champagne. Rustic with toasty notes. Some faint crunchy red apple notes, crushed biscuits, toasted almonds.
Nothing outstanding, not much to fault with either. A good choice as a before meal aperitif, or served well chilled at parties or celebrations.

Disgorged October 2002.

Gourmetklubbens femtiofjärde middag (Södermalm, Stockholm (P+A)): (Bottle from the early 1990s)
Deep golden yellow colour with a pleasant nose showing lime citrus, roasted coffee and some minerals and opens up with butterscotch notes and some tarragon in a delicious way. Pleasant acidity on the palate with red apples acidity and with a creamy and butterscotch touch going through into the finish. Leaving a pleasant minerals saltiness on the lips. Much better than the normal cuvée.

Light yellow colour with lots of bubbles rising in the glass and a nose showing incipient maturity with hints of citrus, butterscotch in a lovely way. Nice and pleasant yellow apples acidity and with a citrus zesty bitterness on the finish. With the extra post disgorgement time the dosage has integrated perfectly giving focus on the minerals on the finish. Took some time to open up and needed time in the glass..

A classical mass production champagne... quite often rated poorly.
The bouquet of this one is quite decent actually after some time and aeration you get a wild mix of flowers, cherries and apples.
On the palate its a bit less fun for me mainly due to a bit candied dosage. Jumps a bit between really too sweet and seemingly ok due to ripe fruit.
But ok its not too bad in my opinion...
Paid 20€ ... there are some much better for this price but I can live with it

This bottle was disgorged in September 2007. It shows why it's good to allow even basic NV champagne to get some bottle age to it.
Dark golden color with a mousse of fine bubbles. Palate dominated by yeast and bread dough, with some citrus coming out as the air worked on the wine.
A really outstanding bottle punching above it's weight class because of the bottle age. I'm glad I have three more bottles left.

A bottle from the early 1970's.

Pale yellow color with lovely tiny bubbles and the typical fruity taste of this Champagne. Nice acidity and balance, lacking only in depth and nuance to bring it a higher score. Moderate finish. Reliably pleasant, or should I say Mumm's the word. Drank with a wonderful puppy drum at Dakota Restaurant on a lazy summer weekend.

Surprisingly light color (med straw) immediately out of bottle but quickly darkened to color of an old white burg. Still alive with appley nose, spices; very soft fizz with few bubbles. Surprising complexity for a bottle I was sure would be a dumper.
