Still drinkable, cork was a bit difficult, sediments as expected. First sip was way too acidic, this mellowed out after 3 hrs in decanter. Then - well, ok-ish Bordeaux, definitely not worth the price.

Friendsgiving Dinner (Riverwoods, IL): An interesting and flavorful start, but this fell off a short cliff with a short and mostly uninteresting finish.

Christmas 2010; 12/26/2010-1/5/2011 (Lille, France): Showing it's age right now - fading fruit with a soft, alluring feel to it. Fairly generic mature Bordeaux palate but with enough complexity to keep it interesting. Drink now.

Drank over 2 days (26th and 27th aug.). Cork in pristine condition, dull red with brown hue. Classical bordeaux nose, with the typical gamuth of tobacco-leather-lead-citron-pepper-plum all in some aged register. Elegant in the mouth and consitent with the nose, medium bodied, harmonious, excellent lenghth. Still, a bit basic - but it would easily compete with many 3rd-4rd-5th ranked growth.

Wine was fantastic. Was a little nervous that it might have been over the hill. Wrong. Can't wait to drink more.

Bright in appearance.
Nose of spice, concentrated prunes, cigar.
On the palate, a lovely combination of sweet fruit, cherry, strawberry.
Big tannins.

Bought at auction for 28€, top ullage, Ok-ish for the vintage and for that price but rather dissapointing for the label ! Past his best?

Late Apr 2007: rubin red color; needed 30 minutes to open up; red and dark berries, cherry and spices; tannic and fleshy on the palate; long finish.

Tasting of 5 Bordeaux and 2 California wines (Walnut Creek, Ca.): Lovely, fruity nose with a touch of tobacco, nice, tasty, chewy fruit, hints of licorice, medium/soft tannins, unusual aftertaste, opened quickly tonight.

6 from 1994 Bordeaux Vintage (Walnut Creek, Ca.): Hot, dusty nose, short nose, opened very slowly, fruity taste, simple fruit, nice flavors, medium/long finish. My #4 of 6 and Group #5 of 6.
