Sorry to say I found this wine surprisingly disappointing. I’m not so snobbish with my Champagne to pick on the big guys simply for their size, but I expected more here. Knows practically nonexistent through the course of the night and palate was a muddle a fruit. Sterile. Perhaps the bottle was damaged. Recently read about light strike with champagne and rosé wines the most susceptible. However, this was an amber colored bottle so go figure. 87-88 points. Not for me.

What a consistently wonderful Champagne from, of course, a HUGE producer. I almost wish I didn't enjoy this wine as much as I do. Excellent notes of red fruits, subtle rock, and even a bit of black earth.
At Grand'Vigne restaurant, Les Sources de Caudalie (Smith Haute Lafitte).
A decent throw down starter to the meal, with grapefruit, watermelon, and strawberry notes, however, it stays superficial and thin on the palate. the bubbles take over a bit on the finish, trampling the fruit a bit.

Smells lightly of strawberries and cream, raspberries and toast. Grapefruit. On the palate, it’s a little unbalanced and bitter. There is lemon, clover club cocktail, butter on the finish. 8/18

Consumed over a very warm night in Sonoma. No notes taken. Very refreshing. The color is enchanting with a beautiful clear to light pink translucency, layered like the petals of a rose. Flavors were bright and crisp. Less strawberry as compared to the Billecart Salmon rose NV, but filled with light fruit flavors at half the price. Would like to compare it to the vintage rose by the same producer, but that is for another evening.

Antagligen alldeles för gammal men ändå en strålande upplevelse. Mässa härliga dofter och smaker och en del udda smaker… gissar att det är åldern som gett den lite nötter o torkade frukter, åt lagrat portvinshållet..(!)

Dark pink rose complexion with hints of lemon, strawberry, and peach. The palate is complex yet very smooth with slight fruit forward and ginger tones. A very well balanced acidity leads to a perfect finish. Highly recommend this one.

We chose this today for valentines's day and were very happy with it. I enjoyed it more than the 2012 vintage we had in august, and especially so at $45 less. This was also more enjoyable than the regular veuve cliquot NV yesterday, and worth the $15 more. I should say I like wines and champagne with some sweetness to them, more than ones excessively acidic. I also enjoy champagne with some mellowness and yeasty notes, which this did not have, but those seem present more in bottles friends have kindly aged for me in their cellars.

From magnum. Disgorged 2015. An excellent, fruity wine that shows that non-vintage VC benefits greatly from bottle ageing for several years, in this case seven years. Alas, my last bottle.

lovely rich imperial topaz color, strawberries and citrus on the nose, on the palate lively and zesty acids dance over a pool of elegant berry and citrus fruit, the racy palate leads into a fine long dry finish to counter the fruit, as with the yellow label Brut the NV Veuve Clicquot Rose is finally back to its great old self after a period when it was a bit sweeter and still very nice- but not showing its best as it is again now, this is terrific today but a few years in the cellar will bring some nice development and a bit of cream, this is once again my "go-to" champagne for entertaining.
***+, ready to drink and will develop some with additional age

Well made but very underwhelming. Red fruit, flowers, minerals. QPR pays for the advertising. More exciting cuvées are out there, but it’s a safe play.

Wife picked this up at target for $67. Not a terrible price comparing to other so easily available sources so that was amusing.
Served cold. It’s outstanding. Super color and bubbles. I reall prefer it over most pink champagne Even the stuff that is much more expensive. Christine (wife, the “champagne whisperer”) agrees. She likes it better than pink dom or pink cristal we’ve had in past and I agree. She drank most of this one as I moved on to the red.
Fresh, red berry fruity, some nicely balanced minerality. Great flavor. Crisp and lovely with or without food. Not incredibly complex, just tasty!
93 is about as high as I go with NV champagne.

Retail $60. 44 to 48 % Pinot Noir, 25 to 29 % Chardonnay, 13 to 18 % Meunier. As one can tell by the number of tasting notes I have written about this wine, I am not a stranger to Veuve Rosé. There are many detractors, many people who are decidedly anti-Veuve (particularly when it comes to the Yellow label), but hear me clearly: this is a quality wine. Sure, it is overly hyped, overly available, overly present. But. That does not make it "bad". In fact, this rosé, were it more *affordable* would be our go-to wine in this house. But at sixty bucks? There are less-expensive options available. 93 points.
Quite dark coloured for Rosé Champagne and it's matched by quite a ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit palate. Higher dosage than normal for Brut, about 10g/L according to google, and it gives the wine a real creamy luxurious texture.
Might disappoint some looking for a lean and tart aperitif but this would be a great cheese Champagne and I think would also work as a dessert sparkling.

Pulled out of the refrigerator about 20 minutes before opening. Drank before and with a dinner of baked halibut and tomato salad. Smooth and a touch off of bone dry. Aromas and flavors of strawberries and apples. Enjoyed by all.
A solid and enjoyable rose to be sure, but I can't help but thinking about so many others that are better at this price point (and less!). Classic strawberry notes, hint of sweetness, and enjoyable astringency.

Very drinkable, though with a bit more sweetness than I usually like in champagne. There is a pleasant bitterness that helps with the dosage, and a strong strawberry note that points toward Bourgogne Rouge. Moderate acidity. Medium body.

Drank this wine at Jin Long Restaurant with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: Pinot Noir.
Beautiful salmon pink in colour. Small bubbles continue into the evening as we ate and dined. As compared to the Henri Abele, this wine has a rounder texture and a longer finish.

Our first bottle of this wine (gifted to us). This was rather less rich/full-bodied than we had expected for some reason (I guess lower dosage than many big name house fizzes). It's very clean, slightly minerally, crisp red fruits, easy drinking.
And utterly without character.
We'll be sticking to grower champagnes which offer much more interest than this at somewhat lower prices than the ~US$56 that I believe this cost.

Drank this wine at a wine dinner at Crystal Jade Palace (Ngee Ann City) with my wine mates. The theme of the evening: Wines from the Year of the Tiger.
Very nice salmon pink in colour with a nice gentle touch on the finish. As compared to the regular Champagne, this bottle comes across as packing more floral notes and fresh berries.

Retail $60. 44 to 48 % Pinot Noir, 25 to 29 % Chardonnay, 13 to 18 % Meunier. One of the more consistent champagnes on the market, in my opinion, with great fruit, balance, and depth. Also, one of the more maligned wines by "experts" since it is made by an absolute behemoth. While that helps make it ubiquitous, it does not, inherently, make it "bad."
Raspberry dominates the nose flanked by non-specific citrus aromas. Palate echoes. Complex finish with nice length and very heavy on minerality and pinot noir notes. NYE pairing with Popeyes fried chicken, crab cakes and Brillat-Savarin.

Veuve Cliquot Rose' is perfect for Champagne lovers who are on a budget. While not inexpensive, it tastes like a luxury cuvee. We drank our bottle with grilled Chicken, and Shrimp skewers. The Veuve is medium bodied with floral notes and moderate acidity. Dessert was a Lemon/Blueberry Pound cake. The Veuve went perfectly with the Pound cake as well.

Beautiful nose of fresh berries and toast, mostly strawberries but definitely conjured an image of a medley of fruits. Creamy mouthfeel from the tight bubbles, nice and round but still good acidity and great depth of flavors. Rich berries and pureed watermelon on the palate along with pie crust on the finish and some cotton candy and vanilla retro-nasally. I did get a bit of orangier citrus notes in the last glass as things warmed up a bit. Was sweeter than I was expecting (12.5% abv). Agree with the many comments that this is not great QPR but also delicious, a special occasion splurge for sure if nothing else for the widow's history (grab The Widow Cliquot if you have the chance, interesting read). Overall evaluation: B+ (89).

Pale, clear salmon pink. Steady, fine mousse. Red currant, pink grapefruit blossom, biscuit and an overall delicate freshness on the nose. Medium bodied, brisk acidity, tart red fruits, prickly mousse and a long tingly finish. The flavours are red currant, rhubarb, slate and pink grapefruit zest. Lots of flavour but it is so subtle and beautifully balanced with a lingering, finish that is tingly and off dry. Beautiful with food (scallops and steak!) and on its own! Fantastique! 93 points all day long!

Retail $60. 44 to 48 % Pinot Noir, 25 to 29 % Chardonnay, 13 to 18 % Meunier. I have been around this block now at least 18 times. Still stellar, but this bottle comes in a bit below the most recent iterations. Sure, it is still relatively dark for a rosé, with plenty of fruit on both the nose and the palate (strawberry, cherry, raspberry). There is a touch of flint along with a healthy dose of yeasty goodness as well in the glass and the palate is much the same with a consistent acidity that races from start to finish. For whatever reason, however, this bottle was not quite as complex as the previous wines. Still, Excellent.

Retail $60. 44 to 48 % Pinot Noir, 25 to 29 % Chardonnay, 13 to 18 % Meunier. We have been going through a lot of this wine lately so I was surprised to find an older bottle in the cellar (I only knew it was older because of the different foil atop the bottle). Even though many in Champagne feel that rosé bubbles do not age that well, this wine was fantastic. Bright, rich, red fruit with a fine, fervent sparkle and a lip-smacking acidity, this wine convinced me to hold onto some of the newer bottles a little longer. If I can keep them hidden from my wife that is. thedrunkencyclist.com

Retail $60. 44 to 48 % Pinot Noir, 25 to 29 % Chardonnay, 13 to 18 % Meunier. One of our "house champagnes" full of fruit (strawberry, cherry), yeastiness, considerable minerality, and plenty of Veuve, er, verve. The palate is quite fruity: oodles of cherry, strawberry, tartness, that minerality, and a baked croissant aspect. Listen, opinions of Veuve are pretty baked-in (wait, is that a pun?), but if you are one of those who think it is schlock, come on over for a blind tasting. Bring your wallet, because we will be making a wager. thedrunkencyclist.com

Retail $60. 44 to 48 % Pinot Noir, 25 to 29 % Chardonnay, 13 to 18 % Meunier. This was the last of a blind tasting of eight rosé champagnes on Champagne Day 2020. I have had quite a few bottles of this wine recently and I would have thought that I would have been able to identify it almost immediately. Nope. Brilliant pink, but lacking fruit on the nose. Haven’t had this in a while and it pleasantly reminded me that it is a really solid product. It’s consistent and has a clean easy feel with a little extra complexity of red fruit (strawberry, cherry). Only barely identifiable as a rose blind. Only major downside here is the price.

Retail $60. 44 to 48 % Pinot Noir, 25 to 29 % Chardonnay, 13 to 18 % Meunier. I have written more than enough on this wine and I have no problem admitting that I am a fan. Sure, the dosage is a bit on the sweet side, but there is good fruit, nice complexity (due, no doubt, to the liberal use of reserve wines), and a lengthy finish. Sure, Clicquot is huge, corporate, and likely devoid of anyone who has dit under the fingernails, but that does not render this a *bad* champagne. The scores here on Cellar Tracker range from 100 (?!) down to 70 (?!?!), with one of the commenters claiming, basically, that Veuve rosé is insipid and that you (we?) should all drink grower champagne. Give me a break, "farmer fizz" is not inherently better just because it is produced by the grower. That's just a stupid comment. I have tasted a ton of champagne, trust me, this is Excellent. thedrunkencyclist.com

Pinot Noir (50-55%), Chardonnay (28-33%) e Pinot Meunier (15-20%) com o mínimo de três anos de amadurecimento.
Na taça exibiu um cativante rosa acobreado com perlage finíssimo, intenso e persistente. Frutas silvestres e notas fermentativas dividiram o protagonismo no nariz e palato. Acidez vibrante, bastante cremosidade e fim de boca longo e elegante completaram o cenário.
Belíssimo Champagne degustado no dia dos namorados.

Bright strawberry along with red cherry, toast and minerals on the nose. Medium bodied (12.5% ABV) and a mix of lighter strawberry and slightly deeper red cherry throughout. There's a good mix of upfront brightness along with a rounder, more open mid-body. Through the middle, it's really quite expressive. Backside brings in tart acidity that provides backbone as well as length on the finish. The fruit is pretty, the depth shows promise and the acidity was a good balancer. Should drink well over the next several years, but is very accessible and rewarding at present.

Haven't had this in over 6 years. Gave it an 88 then, going 85 now. Just not my thing. Way too sweet, so much dark berry, and just too loud. I know it's got reserve wines and a nice backstory but it's just not me for. I would prefer drier and crisper and more minerality. Oh well.

I am sticking with my 93 rating in this one. It really is a good Rose, probably my favourite from Veuve Clicquot. It has this wonderful blend of strawberries, but then this textural minerality which punches above its QPR. Enjoy.

This is what I'm talking about. Unlike the Veuve yellow label we tried alongside this, this was bright, vibrant, and full of verve and precision. Raspberries, stonefruit, citrus, and minerals were augmented by a tightly-wound bead and a lively cut. Tremendous focus, delineation, and freshness. Finishes crisp and resonant. Just outstanding.

Darker, perhaps, than your "typical" rosé, with bright cherry and strawberry dominate on the nose; delightful. I know the grand old Veuve takes a lot of heat from the various "experts" based, at least in part I imagine, on the fact that Veuve Clicquot is now owned by one of the largest alcohol conglomerates on the planet. The palate exhibits one of the richer rosé champagnes with incredible fruit, great sparkle, and a lasting tartness. It might be a tad sweet, but heck, this is really good. thedrunkencyclist.com

Good copper colour, fair strawberry nose. The fruit on the palate was overwhelmingly strawberry with some red berries. These flavours continued through the middle palate which was quite rich and had some acidity but somehow didn't hang together. The end palate had, surprisingly, almonds, almond skin and stones together with some odd herbaceous flavours. This wine might be acceptable at a much lower price but did not impress and certainly did not provide £45 - 50 worth of vinous pleasure. I understand that Champagne has a special cachet and starts a social occasion off well but, in my experience, that is a time when people matter most and the fizz is not approached in a very analytical way. So, a triumph of marketing (and 'high-end' packaging) over real taste IMHO. A decent Loire Cremant would be equally acceptable if your guests don't value labels and 'brands' above reasonable quality, character, and the price of a wine. Note. After the fizz had gone, I was left with a rather ordinary pink wine with little acidity or character. 87-

Tried this one once again because found a lot of this for less money, quiet open right from the start, fresh raspberry, really balanced and elegant showing and melting on the palate, BUT lacking some real freshness, some tension, some edges, some brioche as well, for me a well made product, but on the other hand nothing like a very succesful crowd pleaser, and this is a thing in which some other wine producers fail completely, for me too pricey too, if this Rose is sold for maybe 20- 25€, then it would be really O.K., but demanding more than Gosset for example is ridicolous, really good advertising and branding, thanks to the crowd! And I am a part of it, if not be able to get another one I will enjoy this one too! ;-) **+

Mid copper colour. Lovely round, sweet nose, lots of biscuit and caramel, some peach. Plenty of acidity on the palate, as expected at the red end of the spectrum again, a very strong hibiscus and rosehip note, even a touch of blackcurrant. Crisp, rich, but not at all heavy. Moderately shrunken cork but no sign of age. [Cork + cage; 12.5% abv; Sainsbury's, on offer at £37].

Strawberry water, watermelon, lemon seed, cantaloupe rind, and chalk. A lithe and instantly drying attack, with a hollow mid-palate; finishes dry and somewhat bitter, with the pithy lemon seed note repeating on the back end. Mostly a flat, linear palate-sucker of a sparkler whose diluted and dry profile barely allows for somewhat discernible flavors that seem ultimately underdeveloped and superficial.
I’ve avoided this Rosé Champagne from Veuve Clicquot like the plague. However, time to try it.
It’s classic Rosé style but, light all the way around. It’s quaffable but, at this price point, I’m not giving up my BSR, Ruinart, Drappier etc.. There simply is no wow factor here. For me, all of their cuvées just don’t deliver the quality like other producers in and around their price points.
However, they have a beautiful property and amazing caves.

Bright nose of gooseberry and strawberry. Refreshingly crisp, the wine is clearly well made but the flavours fall rather flat with little to distinguish this against another lesser marque. Biting acidity leaves something to be desired balance-wise. Improves if accompanied by food - shellfish would be ideal.

Most of the disdain for the good Veuve, as far as I can tell, is reserved for what they call the “yellow label” (which I have always seen as more of an orange, for what it’s worth). Why is that? I am not entirely sure, but make no mistake, this is a solid sparkler. Darker than I remember, more of a light crimson/orange with a persistent bead, and aromas of strawberry, rhubarb, and cassis. The palate is delightfully tart and fruity, with the rhubarb really coming through. Initially, this was way too cold, but as it warmed? Wow. Fantastic. thedrunkencyclist.com

On the paler side of mid salmon. Even from a small VC branded tulip the aroma is noticeable, with lots of sweet red fruit. In an ISO-style tasting glass, it's very intense, with lots of dark pinot character, just my kind of thing. Lots of blood orange on the palate, a touch of iron. Juicy with a touch of bitterness. Popped and poured out of an ice bucket. Medium effervescent. Light pink/blush with hints gold light orange. Fine to medium bubbles. Light yeast and fruit on the nose. Medium light acid. Light alcohol. Light to medium fruit. Medium acid. Medium to light body. Shorter finish. This is a generally reliable offering in the this price point - comparable to its corporate sister Moet. I maybe have a slight preference to Moet, but I've had better and worse bottles of each. I generally prefer, the other LVMH brand, Ruinart at a slight price premium to the VC or Moet.

I really thought I'd had this before, but it seems not. Cork slightly shrunken at the end, so maybe a little bottle age (sadly the QR code didn't provide the promised extra information like disgorgement date). A lovely bright, pale salmon pink. It's always a crap shoot with NV bottles from big Champagne houses but this was a great showing. Bright and refined aromas articulate raspberries, mandarin oranges, and biscuits. Crisp textures, juicy acidity, and mineral energy abounds on the palate. It's fresh, vibrant, and extremely taut, showing cherry, ruby red, and yeast flavors and a vigorous, mineral-driven bead. A beautiful note of sea breeze graces the finish. Lovely wine.

Based on the same vintage as yellow label with a small addition of red wine. Mostly from Montagne de Reims and the grand crus from there for the red wine. Now they have good quantity of Pinot coming from Aube so that might be a good chunk of this Pinot. Blend with 12% of red wine. And that carries through all the upper tiers (the percentage). The whole idea here is to make something easy and fruity and so a big measure of Pinot Noir. Very friend is right. Cheese, charuterie, lots of power richness. Crisper than I remember it being. 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 10% Meunier. 35% reserve wine, with the oldest being '88.

The good old Veuve takes a lot of heat. Why? I am not too sure, but the best I can figure is that people disparage the wine since it has a huge production and it is insanely popular. Well, there might be a reason for that popularity—it is pretty darned good. Sure, there are better rosé champagnes out there, but this has solid strawberry fruit, some t0astiness, and fantastic tartness. Is it the best rosé champers I have had? No. But it is readily available and I paid $40 for it.

Very crisp and less sweet than anticipated. Strawberries, whip cream, and minerals. Mouth coating creaminess. Substantially better that the regular yellow label.

Drank side by side with a NV Perrier-Jouët rose. Definitely a step up from the PJ (tasted both blind). Nose has more strawberry and slight raspberry than anything else. Color is medium pink and the bubbles and pretty fine. Overall an easy drinking no frills champagne that's perfect for outdoor grilling and fresh crab. Not a fine champagne and for the price, that's ok.

Tasted twice. On day one expressed nice strawberry and flowerly notes. Quite strong bubbles. Capped and stored o/n. On day two: On the nose strawberry, brioche and liquorice. On the palate nice cranberry and vanilla notes. Mouthfeel had turned more subtle. All in all a nicely balanced rose. Good value (30€/bottle).

I am not a huge Yellow Label fan and generally agree with most of the critics on that wine. When it comes to the Rose, I always like the wine more than most. Sure, this iteration it simple, playful, but it is just so juicy and delicious, with bright red fruit and zingy, tart acidity. It is playful, light and just plain fun. I could drink this often.

Nose of strawberry, Meyers lemon and shortbread. Strawberry, citrus and bread yeast on the palate. Very well balanced with fine effervescence. Leads to a long finish. A very pretty champagne.

A sprightly Widow Rose. Bright red berry, Kiwi, and floral perfume. Vivid, ruby red grapefruit flavor profile. Lively, pithy, and minerally, hints of peaches and Mandarin oranges, good freshness, with a delicate mousse and fine perlage. Long, racy finish. Vibrant, focused, and very tasty.

Beautiful rich colour, like a pot of sugar syrup after poaching peaches. Peach, pear, tart strawberries, macadamia and brioche. medium length, with a steady bead. This bottle was a little light on mousse, but nicely crisp and tasted fresh. Very tasty.

Winewankers BYO; 10/8/2016-10/9/2016 (Runars House): Clean and crisp, bright pink with tiny bubbles. Discreet nose with fresh strawberries. Palate with sweets and red fruit. The wine is light and medium long.

Lovely color. The nose shows toasty aromas of summer berries, flowers, minerals and a hint of cream. This is medium light bodied on the palate with very good concentration and good finesse. The fairly long finish features a reverberating mineral quality.

4th Saturday group "uptown" tasting (M/M thelostverse): Deep pink color with notes of rich, toasted berry fruit and pear. Good fruit on the palate, with flavors of toasted marshmallow, orchard fruit and dough underneath the red berry notes. Finishes well. I much prefer this to warm up #1.

A beautiful NV brut rosè champagne from a very well respected champagne house but not a particularly good QPR wine at the $60 / bottle price point - personally love this wine despite that though. Salmon pink, clear and well balanced with very small bubbles. Nose initially tight but became much more open and effervescent as the wine warmed up with yellow and orange citrus notes particularly striking. Primary flavor profile was warmer then expected including peach, apricot, oranges and a hint of brown sugar. Definitely recommend this wine.

P/well chilled. Darker than usual, with a brown edge. Initial bubble stream OK, then flat very fast. Seemed oxidized with very little fruit, not lively at all. Dull and disappointing. Maybe an off bottle. $56

It was a huge disapointment. Sour, nasty and not what I was expecting. Never again, felt like a marketing ploy as it was contained in a cutesy pink plastic fridge. Too bad they spent more on the package than they did the wine.

Retail $69. On the dark side for rosé champagne and a bit musty initially. Strangely, there is a chocolate note on the palate. We have had this for a bit and the evolution seems to be going in a wonderful direction. Deep, rich, and that chocolate thing. Just short of a whoa. thedrunkencyclist.com

Compared to the Vintage Rosé this is rather poor. Green notes, asparagus, gooseberries, bell pepper, chemical cleaner on top of sweet raisiny fruit. Dry on the palate but with a generous dosage, tart acidity and a medium intensity.
No fun on the nose and awkward on the palate. 50€ for this is robbery!

Unsurprisingly straight forward with little depth or character. Nose of sweet lemon and a somewhat singular plate of creme to match. Very one sided and lacking complexity, this house has never done it for me. Pass.

Can't say that anyone would ever objected to drinking this Rose, but it just didn't stand out to me in any way. Unfortunately I had it paired against a great blanc de blanc, so I'm a little on my review. Very solid, just not very memorable.

Red fruit and citrus aromas. Bright, juicy, notes of cherries, tangerines, and peaches play amongst a tiny bead and a creamy texture. Lacks precision and depth but it's crisp and well made and thus deserving of the score.

Veuve Clicquot Dinner (Boss Shepherd's - Washington DC): Light salmon-copper color. Aromas of strawberries, roses, crushed seashells and salt water. Crisp acid, fresh fruit, somewhat salty on the palate, with lovely flavors of wild strawberries, strawberry jam, wildflowers, red apple peel and toasted bread. Juicy yet fine, clean and precise, with limestone and sea salt on the finish.

I know a lot of people pan the good old Veuve since she seems to be overly popular and “chic”. Well, there might be a good reason for that–the wine is outstanding. Great nose, deep flavors, and a solid finish. The standard yellow label Veuve has always been a bit on the fuller bodied style, and this one, with the additional Pinot Noir, goes even further in that direction–which is a good thing as far as I am concerned. Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

- Orange color with small pearls and aromas of rose. It's balanced and has flavours of grapefruit with a medium/full body. Fleshy texture - The Brut Rose is a light salmon color and smooth citrus tartness on first taste. There is lime and grapefruit within the citrus flavors. Delicious and clean. Dinner with Monthly Group at Forlino's (Forlino's, One Fullerton, Singapore): As always, this was consistently good without being great. The nose was perhaps a little more complex than the palate, with nice notes of strawberries and raspberries with brighter lemony scents, then a bit funky earth and a little suggestion of minerality. In the mouth, this was a pretty simple expression of strawberries and apples spiked with a bright lemony balance and lifted by a lacy mousse. Very pleasant. It then finished with surprisingly long linger of stony mineral. Pretty nice stuff; good for a big group dinner like we had.

Lot AFHMAD, from 375ml purchased from the Club's last inventory sale. Aromas of berries, watermelon, rose petals and brioche with subtle toasty undertones. Medium bead with flavors of cherry, red berries, toasted almonds and brioche with a lengthy finish. A terrific start to the dinner and a nice pairing with our amuse bouche and starters.
2008 base. Needs air to open up, could use a year or more of additional cellaring. Certainly the finest version of this yet and in the very top division of non vintage rose champagne.

Deep salmon, with a small, active bead. Elegant, crisp, clean, and light. Nose and palate are layered with strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, kiwi, lime, wisps of stonefruit, yeast, and earth. This is complex, focused, and expressive, exhibiting a fine mousse, steely minerality, nice length, and a bright streak of acidity. Closes the deal with a dry but juicy, savory finish. Excellent indeed.

Agree with GTFreek; this is obviously more complex and profound than just basic Grande Marque NV rosé. Light and very distinguished on the palate. Good grip. Lovely, light salmon pink colour. Good and solid qualitywise, and now a real option when facing an otherwise dull winelist. Well done!

From a 750 ml bottle purchased over 2 years ago. Salmon pink of light to moderate in intensity. Very fruity nose though light in intensity with plenty of strawberries with some raspberries and yeast. Medium bodied, plenty of very fine persistent beads, moderate acidity, most probable due to the age. More strawberries on the palate with some citrus, rose and hints of a metallic taste. Medium length though at times, the after palate feels a little astringent.

55/28/17 Pinot Noir/Chard/Pinot Menuere. Dosage 10 g/L. Salmon color. Aromatics hint at something more than just basic sparkling rose. Definitely complexities here that have the style of high end champagne. There's a varietal component along with the bread/yeast/strawberry notes. Nice stuff.

Usually at these parties for Year End celebration in Vietnam, we "enjoy" a glass of spoiled Russian "champagne". For some unknown reason 2 bottles of this was inserted, to the unknowing & unappreciating crowd of local friends. Well, a staff of mine how enjoys the finer things grabbed control of the 2 bottles, which we consumed like Lords of the Manor over the ceremony & food. Absolutely 5+ points for context, but this went down so smooth (albiet the contrast was iced down Tiger Beer).
Still, a really delightful drop, balanced, attacking, verve, swag. Ponzi in his black leather. Great stuff for entry level goodness.

Bright citrus on the nose with a touch of yeast. The wine looks Pink colored. It smells like Grapefruit, and Strawberry. The body is Light/Medium. The wine has Bright texture. The wine finishes Medium.
Red berry nose of strawberries and redcurrants. Some more peachy fruit and slight bread character. Dry and crispy though the dosage comes through. Moussé is quite weak. There's the trademark sour twist and grapefruit bitterness - not that much autolysis. Long finish. Straightforward and harmless.

Dinner with Monthly Group at Sichuan Dou Hua (Sichuan Dou Hua, UOB Plaza): I always thought the Veuve Cliquot Rosé NV was a touch more consistent than its white, and this bottle was a decent example. Nothing great, but very serviceable as a starter and, rather surprisingly, a nice foil for a series of Chinese dishes as well. The nose was quite pleasant, with cherry and strawberry scents at the fore along with a touch of toast and earth. The palate also showed pretty much what you would expect from an NV Rosé from a grand marque - bright, fine mousse, fresh flavours of cherry and strawberry spiked by a bit of sweet citrus lemon that kept its impression of sweetness in check, and a bit of minerality at the end. Nothing really complicated, but rather a simple, well-balanced drink. You would probably get a bit more joy from say a Billecart-Salmon Rosé or something from a Grower's Champagne house, but this was very decent.

Displays a burnt salmon appearance, fine, active bead, and a frothy mousse. Strawberries, raspberry, citrus, brioche, and mineral nose. Red currants, watermelon, and hints of smoke and toast join the aromatics on the palate. Racy acidity gives a nice lift to the fruit. Solid.
Biscuity nose, light salmon pink color and delicate carbonation. Slightly sweet impression on palate and balancing acidity, so it is not at all flabby. Better with light fare than alone. Enjoyed by all on new year's eve with appetizers.

To start, my friend Florence opened a NV Veuve Clicquot Rose Champagne. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of the Widow, but this was delicious, a perfect opening shot in what ended up being a great night. Served alongside the last of my Pata Negra and some popcorn with Herbes de Provence, it was slightly soft (not sweet), with red flower and light red berry notes, with an almost velvety mouthfeel and tiny bubbles. Mid-length finish, I was surprised by how good it was considering it was Veuve. Sometimes, we need to stop being snobs and just enjoy ourselves.

Drank a half-bottle of this wine at the Plaza Hotel bar in NYC. Have always wanted to visit the Plaza, and have always wanted to try this wine. What a coincidence! Refreshing, notes of strawberry, cassis, a hit of dark stone fruit, with bracing acidity. Refreshing, but with lots of backbone. Did not get old even after an entire bottle. "Good to the last drop" as they say! A bit more complex than the regular N.V. Veuve Cliquot because of the rose flavors present. Really nice little wine. Enjoyed greatly. Wonderful rosé champagne- unlike anything I've had before. Each pour into the glass was a little different. Early pours had slight aromas and subtle tastes of strawberries and cream. As the bottle progressed, this fruit dissipated and there is a very distinct taste of toasted brioche. Moderately long finish that sweeps through the various regions of the mouth leaving you standing at the counter of a French boulangerie with each sip. Excellent.

This may have been an off bottle due to poor conditions. The biggest indicator of problems to me is that I couldn't really tell is it was a rose. Usually there's a hint of something from a red fruit profile in the wine when it's a rose, like strawberry. This had yeastiness and acidity. It was also fairly one dimensional.

Light salmon color. Cherry, biscuit, and light citrus nose. Strawberry, pear, and tart cherry on the palate. Decent balance, but a bit too middle of the road for me. Doesn't have particularly bright acidity, but doesn't have all that much in the way of nutty or toasty qualities either. I suppose this is blended to please as many people as possible, and in the process blows away very few. Not worth the $50+ price tag, IMO.

great birthday celebration drink on the deck watching the sun set. Light nose, strawberry tones, beautiful color almost salmon with the light, full but not cremant, beautiful full flavor accross the whole tongue, with a hint of tannins on the finish, very full bodied feeling without being tongue coating. The nose and flavor opened up as it warmed, and stayed very satisfying at a higher temperature than would most any other champagne. Wonderful changes over time. Not mind shattering, but certainly got my attention and much more interesting than just another full bodied champagne experience, which are always good anyway.

Same blend as Yellow Label but with some pinot noir skin contact. It was pale pink, very light. The nose is really light, but possessed some light berry fruits without and citrus. The body, not unlike the yellow, was very full, but with a noticeable viscosity that coated the mouth. Had a pleasant finish that lasted an expected minimal length of time. Not bad for $60 retail, but not a top choice.

taste: nice medium acidity with wild strawberries, florals, bits of cherries. Nice richness to it with a good and effervescant feel
overall: this was alot better then I was expecting. Yes, the prejudice of a NV Cliquot existed, and it was very enjoyable. Nice aromatics that have depth to them and excellent flavors on the palate. This may be an industrial rose, but its well crafted and has good acidity to boot

A decent throw down starter to the meal, with grapefruit, watermelon, and strawberry notes, however, it stays superficial and thin on the palate. the bubbles take over a bit on the finish, trampling the fruit a bit.

I also enjoy champagne with some mellowness and yeasty notes, which this did not have, but those seem present more in bottles friends have kindly aged for me in their cellars.

lovely rich imperial topaz color, strawberries and citrus on the nose, on the palate lively and zesty acids dance over a pool of elegant berry and citrus fruit, the racy palate leads into a fine long dry finish to counter the fruit, as with the yellow label Brut the NV Veuve Clicquot Rose is finally back to its great old self after a period when it was a bit sweeter and still very nice- but not showing its best as it is again now, this is terrific today but a few years in the cellar will bring some nice development and a bit of cream, this is once again my "go-to" champagne for entertaining.

Retail $60. 44 to 48 % Pinot Noir, 25 to 29 % Chardonnay, 13 to 18 % Meunier. One of the more consistent champagnes on the market, in my opinion, with great fruit, balance, and depth. Also, one of the more maligned wines by "experts" since it is made by an absolute behemoth. While that helps make it ubiquitous, it does not, inherently, make it "bad."

We have been going through a lot of this wine lately so I was surprised to find an older bottle in the cellar (I only knew it was older because of the different foil atop the bottle). Even though many in Champagne feel that rosé bubbles do not age that well, this wine was fantastic.

I am sticking with my 93 rating in this one. It really is a good Rose, probably my favourite from Veuve Clicquot. It has this wonderful blend of strawberries, but then this textural minerality which punches above its QPR. Enjoy.

I like this sort of rosé, although it's not perfect, and I wouldn't want to pay more than this discounted price. Assertive, interesting, and pretty good.

Cork slightly shrunken at the end, so maybe a little bottle age (sadly the QR code didn't provide the promised extra information like disgorgement date). A lovely bright, pale salmon pink. Nice rich nose, quite creamy, with lemon, and a touch of spiced cherry. Very soft and approachable taste, fleshy blood orange fruit, low acidity, and maybe even a note of vanilla.

Excellent.

great birthday celebration drink on the deck watching the sun set.

Not bad for $60 retail, but not a top choice.

2007 Champagne Tasting (part 2): Slightly better than the bottle I had a year ago. This was a beautiful bright pink color. Notes of strawberry. Very dry finish that left me smacking my lips. 92 points.

A very nice rosé. Strawberry and watermelon aromas are followed by red apple and cherry lemonade on the palate. Firm acidic structure. Finishes with a bit of toasted oak.

Moet comes to Town: The most complex rose. A big full body with lots of nuttiness on the nose and in the palate. Even though it's a rose, more on the serious side. It's kind of like Reese Witherspoon in that blonde movie. 91+

Drank to celebrate Mike's 39th birthday. Pretty in color, sexy on the palate with a nice finish. Really enjoyed this one.

Not all that interesting, but a serviceable rose nonetheless.

Blind Tasting Pinots with K (Blind tasting of Pinots in the corner penthouse overlooking downtown Dallas): Wonderful cool rose color, with a bit of tartness in the aftertaste.

This came through better this evening, the last of 2006, with my delightful wife and I sipping it to the Simpsons on television and a crackling fire in the fireplace. Good fruit and balance, decent acid to round out the sweetness. Nice color to boot.

Not a bad bottle. A bit sweet, rosy on the nose. Not terribly long on the finish, but pleasant.

2006 Champagne Tasting (Part II) (Binny's): A unique nose which drew my attention right away. Strawberry notes on this medium bodied wine. Round finish. 90-91 points.

Enjoyable, but not aa great value. Some richness and interestt, but overall simple and not distinctive. It was nice, but I probably won't buy it again at this price.

Simple nose and palate of raspberries and strawberries. Medium bodied, nice acidity, but no complexity whatsoever. Given the price point, there are better buys out there.

Rich raspberry nose, rich and round on the pallate. A bit short, but clean on the finish. Great everyday sipper....

Drinkable, good with food, pink champagne... We like the NV Yellow Label almost as well as this one so we will probably not go for it often given it is almost two times the price.
