Wine Education Service - Classic Grape - Riesling (LSE): A lot of sulphur here so the nose needed patience but this was rewarded with diesel notes and then some luscious fruity aromas of white peaches. Oily in the mouth, not a lot of fruit, maybe a bit of grapefruit, quite refreshing, at its peak.

A golden apple juice colour, the nose gives off a wooden pine resin aromas (this wine has clearly seen some time in barrels) with hints of lime. The oaky wood-chip palate almost overpowers and masks the unripe green fruit flavours, making the wine tart and bitter. This is probably my first experience of oaked Riesling; I cannot say that I am altogether convinced **

Lime fruit, plenty of minerality. Went well with Thai food whilst watching the USA equalise against England in the World Cup thanks to Rob Green's fumble; memorable occasion (for the wrong reasons), but not really a memorable wine.

Fairly classic youthful new world Riesling. Plenty of lime fruit, a hint of oily rag. Fresh, lively and racy acidity. Again, lots of lime fruit on the palate.

Nose of tropical fruit, citrus and quite a bit of peach, perhaps some pear drops. Less impressive flavour, good body, weighty for a riesling more citrus and some tropical fruit as well. Fairly short finish. A little lacking in real varietal character.
