  • Bracing acidity conveys outstanding savory roasted nuts, saline minerals, caramel and woody notes, intense long finish. Fantastic.

  • Its amber color shows that It´s dense and full-bodied. This is clean as well.

On the nose it has a médium-high intensity, and it´s complex. old wood, dry fruits, caramel, roasted aromas and hints of sweet and saline aromas. It seems like fino, amontillado and oloroso at the same time.

On the palate the flavors are the same; at the beginning it´s a little bit sweet, and then it shows almonds and saline aromas, which are present in a long final, which is a little bit bitter.

  • Just returning home after my Camino de Santiago, almost 1.000 kilometres, connecting Roncesvalles and Santiago, crossing some of our most amazing wine regions (Navarra, Rioja, Bierzo, Valdeorras, Ribeiro and Rias Baixas).
Matching some gazpacho snaps and gordal olives. This is a fantastic PC VOS, still pungent and savory. Definitively this is a very fine wine.

  • This's a wine I'm devoted and have been for many many years but this bottle was a Special one.
Smells like a candy shop for adults, I mean, toffee but also sweet woods and hazelnuts. Profound.
Delicious on the palate, dense and very long.
Always strikes my mind this VOS

Profundo.
Delicioso en boca, denso y muy largo.
    Siempre me golpea este VOS

  • Still a traditional, trustable, authentic PC VOS.
    Terrific value at 12€.
Mahogany colour for a bitter nuts aroma.
Profound and creamy on the palate. Richly complex.
    Finally grilled shellfishes were perfectly.

  • OMG, it's true that I'm falling in love with this PC, again.
This bottle seemed to have double of everything: Toffee, bitter butter and a touch of mineral (saline) goodness.
    Outstanding for what it is.
Perfectly paired with a homemade tagliatelle in curry sauce with shrimps.

  • The peanut oil comment is right on. What ever you do, don't think of peanut oil when you taste this...it will ruin the wine. Don't think of it. I had lots of notes before reading that and, now, I can't think of any...just peanut oil. Truly, though, this is fun to drink, although a little hard to figure out. It has some burnt notes, perhaps overly browned butter with a bitter edge that lasts on the back of the palate. VERY dry and saline at mid with some burnt veggie at mid. Even so, interesting.

  • Brilliant mahogany/red. on the nose, caramel, toffee and nuts. Very dry and nutty. There is a fair amount of acidity that makes this a very appetizing and clean drink. Impressive length. Excellent sherry.

  • Great as aperitif matching langoustines.
Perfect mahogany colour for a lovely milky nose of bitter butter. Complex all the way.
Palate showed delicious, more citric than woody. Toffee-flavoured without any sweet, then balanced.
    As Palo Cortado must be.

    Grande maridando langostinos.

  • So good this one. A reflexive bottle to be enjoyed slouched in a wing chair.
    Precious clean mahogany colour
Complex nutty nose of bitter butter and fresh bread. Delicious. Well integrated alcohol.
Gliceric oxidized mouthfeel. Rich and long aftertaste.
But after all it´s only a VOS, isn´t it? Most important, this is a real PC.
    Dedicated to Well integrated alcohol
    Well integrated alcohol
Dedicated to a frightful snob like someone is.

    Precioso y claro color caoba.
Compleja nariz anuezada con mantequilla amarga y pan recien hecho. Deliciosa. Alcohol bien integrado.
Sensación en boca oxidada y glicérica. Rico y largo postgusto.

  • Caramel and walnut nose with a vegetal undertone, this is super smooth on the palate but I felt it lacked definition. A bit dull, perhaps, but that's a harsh thing to say for an otherwise serious wine. Maybe it was just a little too sweet for me, but I actually prefer the Napoleon.

  • Waterloo revival: a potent and pungent Napoleon is not rival to that darker, turbid and self-confident Wellignton PC. A vegetables and ample nose versus wet towel smells. Fot a keen on PC like me, Wellington is clearly a superior sherry but the Emperor still rules my nose. Even knowing the result, love this battle.

  • I opened a bottle of this for my 11/13/10 Sherry tasting. My notes matched the ones from 8/17/10. It did, however, seem much less impressive…it just couldn’t stand up to some of the truly awesome wines we tasted. 91+

  • I opened this at the end of our 8/17/10 backyard BBQ. It had a wonderful bouquet of almond, walnut, toffee and mineral aromas. The palate was full, dry, smooth and balanced with flavors that followed the nose. It was a big hit with our guests.

  • Delicious! Adult dessert, totally dry (& strongly tart when even slightly cool), but powerful confectionery scent and flavors of caramel, maple, nuts. As expected just a bit lighter than Oloroso, really long finish.

  • Nose of almands, toasted grain, and caramel. Fairly broad and full favoured in a refreshing, crisp package. Salty. Very good. Serve at about 16 degrees C, not fridge cold
