  • This is a delicious wine ~ not a delicious Long Island wine, a delicious wine period! Chocolate, dark cherry and spice aromas give way to even more complex flavors including some pepper and some red fruit. Drinking beautifully, smooth and nicely balanced. Highly recommended and if you have some in your cellar, enjoy it now.

  • I am dumbfounded that this is a LI wine, I get no sense of the terrior that makes wines from this region interesting and unique.
My first guess if tasting blind would be CA circa early 2000s, huge oak, high alcohol, big chocolate and syrupy figs, not unpleasant, but not what I expected. Some due diligence into the growing season for 2007 may help justify this BIGNESS.
The nose does give way to some vegetation, but the oak overpowers before any other characteristics can peek through. Expect a round palate, silky texture, virtually no tannins, and a taste structure of chocolate, light toffee, maybe even some sweet tobacco?
Not what I expected, more of a dessert like wine then anything else at this point, perhaps three plus years will mellow this out.
