It was time to drink this 24 year old wine. Went very well with a Boeuf Bourguignon. It has a structure that enabled it to stand to the dish. All in blended aromas. Great experience

This 23 year old Pessac has kept all its flavours. A real pleasure to drink. Did not decant it. Drank from the bottle and opened it just before drinking.

Drank this at Kai Garden with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: Wines that start with C.
Drank alongside the 2004 Cullen Wines Diana Madeline Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot. A more serious, formal wine as compared to the Cullen.
Brickish red in colour with a familiar Bordeaux nose. Some berries and plums on the palate. Overall a resounding pleasure drinking this wine at its 20 years mark. Well within the last stages of its drinking window.

Still a nice bottle of wine, but probably on a downward slide toward obsolesence. Not a ton of fruit and very little tannins. Decent nose. If I had another bottle I would drink it within the next 12 months.

Dark red thin fading edge. Cassis and cedar nose with a hint of rubber boot. Cassis and then a rather thin metallic middle with a little oak on the underwhelming finish. not yet mature, but not sure if you should wait for maturity.

Dark red. Primary nose of cherry and raspberry. Medium+ body. Primary again, with only a hint of tobacco. Simple. Tannin is very smooth and acid shows on the shortish finish. Good, but I am surprised by its youthfulness.

DRC Tasting Group: Bordeaux Night (Seattle, WA): Tasted blind. Chocolate and black fruit on the nose. Higher toned body; medium weight, good acidity with a medium+ finish. Lighter on the fruit.

Opened 3 hours prior to serving. On the nose, plenty of barnyard and band-aid along with aromas of black olive, dried herb, cassis, and blueberry. Firm tannins dominate the palate, until the brett takes over and shows up as sweaty horse and Asian 5-spice. There seems to be a constant battle between the brett and fruit, ending in a rather abrupt finish. Disappointing wine.

Bought this upon release - cellared for 12 years (a record for me!). Decanted 2 hours before dinner. Earth and leather on the nose, subdued fruit and tobacco flavors. Had enough character to keep me interested, and paired well with grilled meats on the table. Was in excellent shape, with no signs of degradation.

Balanced, round full and quite lovely. Red berry and cassis fruits are creamy but tinged with earth. It is still youthful but a delicious drink that disappeared faster than MH370.

Mature wine. Nose smells of wet earth and tobacco. Palate is on the lite side with nice secondary flavors but nothing jumping up and saying wow. I expected more given the vintage and given the high praise by RP's WA. Decent, but not a wine I would buy again.

Classic French table wine. Really compliments a meal and could drink on a daily basis like water, but not a stand alone wine. Smooth and pleasant and blends in rather than trying to make a statement.

From a half-bottle: Surprised by the robust and predominantly fruit driven palate of this wine. Plenty of ripe plum and earthy fig interlaced with minerality and a pleasant tannic bite. Finish of cedar and leather. Complex, recommended.

Very interesting wine. Classic Pessac. Initial notes shows great freshness and distinct minerality. After some air, more earthy and leathery flavours start to show. Finally hints of liquorice and tobacco. Good complexity and structure and beautiful maturity, but no signs of decline. Great wine.

Creme de cassis, black cherries, plums, tobacco and forest floor scents make up the perfume. Medium bodied, with a feminine, almost light style, this is ready to drink. The wine ends with smoke, spice and cherries.

Opened well and just got better. I'd concur with the comment about a dodgy smell immediately on opening but it soon blew away. Decanted - throwing quite a lot of sediment. Quite earthy but not vegetal. Spicy tones but plenty of fruit (red & black) and a lot of backbone without sacrificing subtlety for power. Some minerality in there. The tannins are softened but still very present and this wine holds together with good body all the way through. Don't know if it will evolve further but I'd reckon it'll last a good few years yet.

DC Contingent's Bordeaux Tasting (Dino's - Washington, DC): a bit tight upon opening. four hours later, this showed lovely cedar, dried flowers and forest floor on the nose. medium acid and good tannic structure. really spicy on the palate with lots of minerals, cranberries, laced with pepper and some tobacco leaf. a more red fruit-focused wine. i liked the earthy characteristics that this showed after opening. has a good five years ahead of it easily.

Bordeaux Petits Chateaux 2000 @ my place (Netherlands): Red fruit, candyshop, tobacco, damp soil, poached pears, bayleaf and licorice. Cool and fresh, elegant wine. Not a blockbuster. Mildly toasted oak. Quite Burgundy-like? No errors, but also no emotion. Good wine. 16.5/20

Not much difference from my six-month earlier post on this same wine. This had that gamey / vinegary stench immediately after uncorking. I was thinking it was back to the cellar. But, alas, it performed quite well. Again, day 2 shows more mellowness and still an interesting, slightly peppery finish. Day two is my preference.

An enjoyable, not very deep nor profound, medium weight Bordeaux. Elegance over power. Drank it over three nights, it performed best on the last day. Still has some reserve. 17/20.

I expected a little bit better from this one. Color was a nice, slightly transparent dark red. The nose was a little leathery with some red berries. It seemed a little thin and muted at this point with not much of a finish but did improve with time in the glass.

Gamey on the nose when initially uncorked. Nose melllows out nicely over time. Not tight at the outset, tannins not quite gone, acidity is. Favorable progression over the hours, tannins intensify (but still muted). I think this has a few years left on it. Suited best with a rich cassoulet. 24 hours later: Gamey nose is gone, complexity showing through with hint of pepper; not the least diminished on the whole. Exceptional value in the 2nd Growth realm.
