  • This wine was a retirement gift and a first Israeli wine I can remember I have had. It was a very pleasant surprise. The wine was dark inky blue red and had a mineral and heavy fruit nose. The flavor was strongly mineral and very tight with a good bit of astringence and nice balanced acidity. The finish was a heavy but mild tannin and fruit. The wine began loosening up nicely over about an hour but could have opened longer. We just drank faster it ‘cause it was good. The wine was hand carried into the US from Israel so was intended for internal Israel consumption. I don’t know if their export is identical to their domestic production, but I will try to pick up another and cellar it a few more years.

  • Dark garnet towards ruby at the rim, medium to full-bodied with on the nose black currants and blackberries, these showing on the palate along with black cherries, earthy minerals and hints of dark chocolate with soft and round tannins as well as some heat on the long finish.
