Nicely mellowed. The years have been kind. Black fruit on entry. Then, some leather. Tannin is nicely settled down. I bit more back of the palate tartness than I might have guessed. Also a retro-nasal suggestion of anise.

Had this last night with my wife's famous braciole. This wine had an outstanding nose of red/black fruit, slight menthol and licorice. Excellent layers of fruit with a pretty good finish at the end. Really good stuff!

Bonnie says, "I like the smooth depth and the intense dark fruit in this wine." Who am I to argue? It is very smooth and brings back good memories of meeting the Barnetts on the mountain, sitting outside of the cave looking over the valley, and the warm sun pouring down on us. It is indeed a lovely wine. Good fruit, a bit sweetish after an hour, medium long finish. Would pay $45 and feel it was a square deal.

Loved the mountain fruit, and it wasn't too thick. Not flabby, but I don't think I'd hold this too much longer. Pick a good excuse, and good steak, to enjoy it soon :-)

This Cab was a WOW for my wife and I. Great berry flavor and the nose filled the room with a great aroma. Nice dark purple color and very long legs. It seem to last forever. I really liked this wine.

Very nice cab. Opened both bottles an hour in advance of dinner. Decanter one and let the other open in the glasses during first courses. Both bottles were, vibrant. Good fruit evident from first taste. Nice structure and finish. Served with French onion soup and steak poivre . The wine was an excellent compliment with both courses.

Delicious! Big bouquet of rich chocolate, with notes of black berry and a smidgen of pepper. The longer it sits the bigger it gets (that's what she said!)

Deep rich purple color. Intense, luxurious blueberry pie and mineral aroma. Rich ripe blueberry and wet stones in the mouth with smooth-as-silk tannins and perfectly integrated acidity for a long long delicious finish.

Tasted four bottles with consistent notes -- big, mouth-filling red that expresses more fruit and terroir than oak. It's a mountain wine, with chewy tannin and ample acidity, but extremely well-balanced with a long finish. Will age gracefully for 10-15 years, but unlike many of the Barnetts, this wine is drinking very well right now.

Wonderful nose. Classic Napa Cab fruit flavors. A little thin and lacking in complexity. Medium tannins with good balance. Drinking well now. I don't think it will get any better with age.

Chocolate on the nose, dark fruit, blackberry, slightly alcoholic after opening...burned off after some air time. I expect this one to develop nicely with time. (Drank at 1424 with the Wilson's 12/21/10)

Similar to the 2007 Caymus but with more traditional Cab flavor. Velvety tannins with candied fruit, leather, and a hint of old world spice. Very nice wine.

Rich, full aroma of cassis and baking spice. Complex, layered mouth showing cassis, cherry, spice, leather... good velvety tannins on the finish. Balanced with a bit of acidity. Long finish.
Absolutely rocked me, to the core. Rich, expressive, powerful yet balanced... everything I expected out of the Silver Oak Alexander '05 this sat next to (which didn't deliver at all). I'll take this over that any day of the week. Drink through 2017.

Dark rich fruit and baking spices on the nose, much brighter fruit in the mouth with a hint of sweetness. Spice still lingered and smooth finish. Drinking surprisingly well for being so young, looking forward to seeing where this one goes. Showing serious promise....

wine opens elegantly with hints of raspberry and coffee and the fruit pops in the middle ending in a refined finish with medium tannins

Barrel sample - well balanced, long smooth finish and drinking well as a young cab. Not as good as the Rattlesnake which had a bit more fruit.
