From magnum. The cork was slightly loose and unfortunately fell into the wine. So, the wine was quickly decanted to minimize contact. Initial bottle stink blew off after 30 minutes. The aromas transformed from cedar to red fruit over a few hours. Most of the structure has subsided leaving only slight fine grained tannin. The wine is medium weight and richly fruited - not unlike a recent bottle of 75 Cos. Great aged Bordeaux. Drink now.

It's always enjoyable to drink a wine with 30+ years.
At 11% and a depressed cork I didn't expect the Laffon Rochet to even show up, it did but wasn't the life of the party. Strawberry and an ebbing minerality over two hours. Fun, but not fantastic.

An intensely beautiful color of a developed wine. The nose has something great like mint, cocoa, leather, vanilla, in short complex and big. The taste is a confirmation of the nose. Cocoa, but then yet even more chocolate. There are still the necessary tannins present but they are beautiful in balance. The aftertaste is long, quite lingering, and beautiful.Saint Estephe at top!

Medium red, brownish tones, bright Closed and soft nose, wood and fruit Perfect taste, mature but powerful and lifely, not hard, round tones, lots of nuance

Deep, but still somewhat locked bouquet. There is some sweetness, fruit and oak. The tannin is still a little sticky and firm. Good amount of acidity. Full bodied. A bit short in the finish. Now already pleasant. There is definitely a future of 3-5 years, maybe longer.

Some fruit still left in it. Fun to drink, but not overly compelling. Cork was soaked most thru but was held together.

Had quite a narrow window. Great on the nose, not as compelling on the palate.

Over the hill, tart and unintersting. Like eating raw oyster shells.
