Ruby magenta color, no sheikh present, slightly thinner clear edge. Nose of crushed cassis and elegant woods, maybe even mint or some other herb. Taste is polished, balanced, elevated. Paso ripe fruit only shower second day, first day was quite restrained. Lots of life, extended to 2020. Enjoy now you won’t be disappointed.

Night 2 - consistent, though noticeably softer and more integrated. Less oak and in your face fruit, makes me wish I had decanted or at least gotten more air than pop and pour on night one.

Smells like super young Rhone. Big grenache. Blackberries/raspberries with a little spice. Intense berry flavor, with a bit of effervescence, though not quite cola. Finishes for a while. Glad we held it for as long as we did as I think the oak has smoothed out since we first had this at the winery in '08, may get better, but pretty good right now.

– popped and poured – – tasted non-blind over a couple hours – – 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 5% Counoise –
NOSE: ballpoint pen ink; expressive red/purple fruit mixture; hint of sugared gummy orange slice candies; Nose is framed by French oak tones. Bit too oaky for my preference.
BODY: magenta-tinged garnet color of medium-deep depth; fine and superfine particulate matter present; medium-full to full bodied.
TASTE: oaky; fine-grained tannins are slightly drying; too much oak; acidity does seem to be there, but what would otherwise be a fresh/lively wine is bowled-over by the oak; strawberry on the finish; alc. is a bit noticeable in the belly and on the gums (15.5% alc.); hole at back of mid-palate. The aggressive oak treatment on this wine is a let-down, and makes this a rather ho-hum regular ol’ “good” wine, which, in turn, makes it a poor value in my opinion.
Rich, dark purple color, beautiful in the glass. Initially tight (not decanted) but it opened up nicely in 10 to 15 minutes. Crisp structure. Blend of Grenache (85%), Syrah (10%), and Counoise (5%). Spicy, lively, dark fruit. Bobbie loved it.

Bright and sweet red fruit and a whiff of alcohol on the nose. Same on the palate with the addition of some toasty oak. Finish was slightly bitter and awkward with significant alcohol. Not bad, but the QPR on these Denner wines is just not doing for me -- they need to drop $10 minimum for each of their wines to make them competitive with similar Paso wineries like Halter Ranch and Adelaida to name two. This Grenache was just too oaky and alcoholic. The 2007 Syrah I had recently was an oak monster. For the $40 price point, these wines have to deliver more.

LA/OC Welcomes Hollowine! (WCC & Houston's Irvine): Wound up pretty tight at the pop, but with only about 15-20 minutes of air this turned the corner in a big bad way with excellent floral, tar, and dark fruit aromatics. Much of the same on the taste, excellent structure and a really enjoyable spicy black fruit finish. This is just a baby and while it is excellent now, should get better with age.

Just received this from the Winery wine club. Thought this was very Rhone like. A big, heavy, loaded with fruit wine. Will purchase more to lay down for a while.

A reference grenache. Incredible stawberry fruit and complex aromas/flavors. Was not long for this world in my house.

Concentrated floral nose. Fruit comes on strong initially but finish and very light body cause flavors to fall quickly. Tasted at the winery.
