This is for a 2005 - sorry, but it's impossible to modify the entry with corkz on iPhone.
Bottom line the '05 still tastes good. I drank it over 3 days - pumped in fridge and it did pretty well. It had mellowed quite a bit. When I first open I got that raisin taste, but that disappeared after 15-20 mins and the overall body came forward.

Lovely mid red, muted nose. Attractive Zin fruit, soft tannins, acidity nicely balances the rest of what is going on. A little light in the mid palate. Very tasty. This should be consumed in the next year or so.

This is not an over-the-top styled zin. A good balance of acidity and alcohol. Oak is there, but not in the forefront. Nice nose and palate of cherry, oak, pepper and a little mint. The finish was short.

Wow, just about DOA. Not much flavor, not much nose and did not open up with time or warming from cellar (55F). Nose, after several hours open, was sweet phenol and crushed berry without much lift. Flavors are lean, nearly, sour cherry, some boysenberry, hints of wood. Really quite muted and without much to give. Good acidity and at least this was not an overripe fruit bomb. Not undrinkable, just not impactful nor worth nearly $30. Drink remaining asap, this thing is quitting quickly.

July 4 BBQ - all Sonoma '04 vintage wines, Zins, Syrahs a Pinot and a Claret. Wines enjoyed by all - particularly the Pinot and the Ridge Zin. A good time had by all.

interesting old softer plum and black raspberry; tobacco leaf and a peppery finish; complex, though if you like fruit, i would drink sooner rather than later.

a bit lighter for a zin with some ruby around the edges. nose has lots of pepper, cherries, rasperries, coffee, and cloves. super smooth mouth feel-silky-this was decanted for several hours and it showed by being really soft and balanced. Jammy cherries and blueberries- black pepper that lingered on the sides of the palate and mint all in really nice balance.

To start off- this was a good wine that needed a lot of time to open up. Like previous reviewer, this was a very complex wine with multiple layers. I felt this could be classified as an "old world" style Zin. This is not your average Sonoma or Paso style zin-a your big in your face wine. Nose was a little jammy- but no jam flavors in this wine. At 15.2 the alc. was well hidden. Wine was a little muddled and dull upon opening- but as the night went on this wine just kept improving and opening up layers of flavors and spice- good amount of acid as well.

This is an absolutely beautiful Zin. Nose of dark fruits, and spice. The mouthfeel is full with just the right blend of acid and tannins. Complex layers of cassis, blackberries, and pepper flood the palate. The finish is long and smooth. One of Ridges best! This should only continue toget better for a couple of years.

Just opened thinking it was past it’s prime. It’s been great with no signs of being past due.

A nice zin starting to show its age. Still has good fruit and balance, but starting to fade.

Decent but on the down hill slide. Really thin on the finish. Drink'em if you got em.

Nice balance. Pepper on the lingering palate. Stone fruit up front. I liked this one.

Drink now. A little thin and light on fruit, seems well toward the downhill slide.

Solid effort. Drinks well. Fruit still hides the 15.2% abv.

Black cherry, tobacco, and a slight hint of leather. Doesn't linger very long on the palate.

Full body, great spice and fruit nose, med-long finish. Drinking well in 2009 but could be held much longer.

Nice balance of fruit and cedar with a long finsh. Served to a small gathering of friends pre-dinner. Great wine that stood on its own.

An amazingly complex Zin that is sure to get even better with a little bottle aging. The previous reviewers are spot-on.
