Monthly Tasting Group LTB; California (by MdW): In the bouquet tropical flavors like papaya, mango, pineapple and also honey and caramel. Same on the palate. Tart lime. Also yellow fruits like banana, minerals. Good freshness. A bit fat mouth feel. Ok wine; not really exclusive.

Jaune doré Arome d'abricot et de vanille Agréable rondeur en bouche. Légère acidité. Poire et abricot dans un pâtisserie feuilletée au beurre. Persistance moyenne Très bon rapport qualité-prix

This is the best $18 Chardonnay I have tasted. Has great citrus flavors and minimal oak for a crisp slate, lemon-lime and a hint of pineapple taste. Has a Sauvignon Blanc crispness with the more sophisticated mouth of a chardonnay. Great value.

Everything a "next generation" California Chardonnay ought to be -- luscious fruit aromas and flavors, solid acidity, subtle kiss of oak, and enduring finish. Loved sharing this wine with Ashley and David -- it is like a trip to Santa Ynez Valley in a single bottle of wine.

Butter, lemon, slight floral hint on the nose. This is tart and zesty, taut and not all that ripe, with flavors of lemon and grapefruit. Comes up short on the finish, but nice enough.

Auction Dinner - Course 6. Paired well with the Chilean Sea Bass with Mango Salsa. Easy drinking wine with enough backbone and acidity to marry well with food, and not overly oaked so as to overpower. Plenty of tropical fruit notes helped with this pairing. It is always a treat to share Alma Rosa wines with friends, and this one did not disappoint.

Seems to have a little RS. But the acid is fairly high, so the balance remains very good. Nose has tropical fruit, pear and just a hint of toast. Seems like a middle ground between the unoaked no-ML style and the heavy butter style--I like this approach. Very drinkable wine and has enough acid for food as well. Good value at $12.

Fresh and tropical. Hardly any oak. Pleasant and ok wine, but lacking some depth.

Pale yellow with moderate legs. Pear, pineapple, maybe a hint of vanilla. Moderate acidity, very light oak. Nice, everyday wine.

Consistent with prior notes. Nice nose of pineapple, lime, stone. Worked nicely on its own, and had just enough body to stand up to salmon.

Light and tasty. Perfect dinner party wine, but not super special event party wine. Not too fruity.
