Rich and bright fruit up front. Not a flabby CA chard at all. It has good clean acidity on the finish albeit slightly oaky and bitter but not intrusive. Simple overall and not over the top at all.

Santa Rita Flight 8/21/2009 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC): Golden green color. Old world earthy, mineral rustic nose, with lots of tropical fruit and lemon grass. Viscosity almost as heavy as a riesling. Plenty of malic acid crispness. Slight time in oak helps round everything out. A little bitter. Some nutmeg and cloves join a honey spiciness on the finish.

Rich, honeyed nose. Sweet and oaky, over the top style. 84-86
