Five years since last tasting one of these; apparently the treatments and style of wine here have changed with less late, late, late harvesting. Rather than raw ripe fruit, this was beginning to show some classy secondary development. 91+

This bottle, while not as focused as some of the others, opened up to show some real class and purity; dried rose petal, fresh minerals, cinnamon, clove and a pop of potpourri. Silky and elegant in the mouth with good acidity and very fine-grain tannin. Super elegant.

Intensely perfumed, all red fruit; silky textured offset with pungent minerality + balance and class. At worst his wines seem to be "made" rather than grown.

Opened one hour in advance. Quite alcoholic and tight. It took two more hours to become more approachable. You can feel the oak influence but still a well-made Burgundy with a rich palate and punching backbone. It's not an elegant Beaumont at this moment. May be give it 2 or 3 years to gain harmony.

Well defined nose of white pepper, clove, cinnamon, soy sauce and sesame seed come through with very floral, pure fruits of crushed violets, cool red and black cherry fruits. Ends with a bit of inner mouth perfume, very silky tannin. As this opens up, it gains dimension with even more minerality. Very classy and fine.

Very airy, perfume-driven nose of bright red cherries, watermelon and a touch of red raspberries (that are quite ripe for the vintage) and show good delineation and focus. Very pretty, floaty nose with floral and spicy aromatics. The palate also shows the hall mark Vosne spices, intermingled with a linear, inner-mouth floral perfume that shows notable precision and elegance but not much body. This bottle seems to be higher toned and less darker fruited than the first bottle tasted years ago, although it is much more expressive, complex and well-pointed today than in the past. 91-92

Of course, too young but what potential! Quite closed on the nose but eventually revealing suggestions of violets and ripe dark pinot fruit. Spice (tactile for now) and relatively high acidity that adds lift to more darker fruits with good depth. Overall, rather reserved now but the body and quality of fruit are impressive.
