  • Decanted a few hours. This is in a really nice place right now. Quite dark and concentrated with a fruity dominance. But dark and powerful fruit rather than light and fresh. The tannins are mellow and only little acidity. Went really well with roasted duck

  • Decanted a few hours. Still it seemed quite closed but with a good potential. Beautiful nose all the evening. But the taste quite closed. Good texture and complexity. Lots of little gifts in respect of different tastes. Blackcurrant, dark cherries, marinated black olives, liquorice, acetone, granite and wood. Feels like this wine is just about to open.

  • Ruby. Glycerine streaks from the 14% alcohol. Sour cherry, peanuts, clover, clay on the nose. Elegant palate of sour cherry, clay, kirschwasser, and vegetable roots. Some heat, but overall mellow. Better showing than a year ago.

  • This is more like a well-made Bourgogne than a Pomerol in texture, density and taste profile. Pairs well with rabbit and truffels and potatoes. Lithe, agile, dusty.

  • New label, with the babybird/heart logo. 14% alcohol. Maybe the lightest color of all the Petite Eglises I have drunk. Fairly weak bouquet of cherries and herbs. Taste is predominantly black olive, some cherry, and some licorice. Much more elegant and light than any PE I can remember. Lots of lift--can easily imagine doing sporting activities after a few glasses. Tannins are not the typical talcum powder or large tannins, but small, invisible, round, completely integrated. Some heat from the alcohol, but overall a success, and ready for consumption right now.
