  • Earlier notes have nailed the classic flavors and balance in this wine which has aged very well in a cool cellar. Consider this an excellent MAV produced by a very talented winemaker. Buy the good vintages, store properly and this wine will reward you for your patience. Kicked it up a point as I drank it through the evening. Being light-bodied, it's a summer red "par excellence." Good luck keeping your hands off it.

  • Dark ruby purple color of medium intensity. Nose of damp minerals, dark cherries and mild spices. This wine had good concentration, and structure. I think it might improve with another 1-2 years in the bottle. Outstanding Cru Beaujolais

  • As is typically the case, the Moulin represents the meatier side of Beaujolais. This is no exception. Intense purple color, fairly muted Gamay on the nose, as others have noted, quite tight still, I would say years of life, unfortunately I was premature, notable tannins, not lacking for concentration, but not showing yet its full potential.

  • Dark red with hints of purple. Decanted and sampled - very closed with just fruit tannins showing. Left for 30 hours in the cellar. Note from next sampling. Aromas of game, minerals, violets, tar, blueberries, and blackberries. Palate of licorice, minerals, blueberries, blackberries, and black currants. Long, tannic finish with very fine tannins. Improves in the glass. Expect this to be really fine with sufficient bottle age. Needs at least five years based upon glacial development in decanter on this bottle. Hold.

  • Notes from day 2.
    Dark red in color.
Nose of wild strawberry, a nice spring flower component started to emerege with extended air, a little mossy stone as well, with a little earth.
Palate of tart black cherry, a hint of red plum, a little mossy tree bark, going on with some hot stone, and a little spice.
The finish was average in length and decent balance overall with good acidity present.
Overall a solid wine, but still sort of tight, and not showing its true potential.
    Hold: 50+5+11+15+7

  • Rich, ripe Gamay nose on opening, but tight on the palate and within an hour or so the wine seemed to have shut down nearly completely. Left behind were a sense of concentration in the mouth, fine tannins, and a vigorous acidity--fine structure in general. Over the course of the next two days, it budged but a smidge. So...see ya when I see ya, 3 Rocks. Maybe in the fall.
