Drank over a few hours. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Sediments towards end of bottle. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of red plums, raisins, stewed veggies, diluted Port, earth. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), slick high tannins, full body. Medium+ fllavour intensity, with flavours of red plums, sweet raisins, dilute Port, licorice, red spices, pepper, vegetal undergrowth. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Could be an enjoyable drink for some folks. Quality is there, but the heat and ripeness of the terroir is undeniable. Drink and enjoy as desired.

Thick raisiny and port-like. Smoky nose. I adore this. Seems like it’s going to be tannic but the teeth don’t stick much at all. Surprisingly easy finish.

Absolutely stunning wine!! This bottle was perfect! Nez ouvert de bleuet confit et de cuir neuf avec des notes florales et de fines herbes...superbe ! Un vin harmonieux avec des tannins soyeux. Moelleux et fin. Saveur de bleuet avec une pointe poivrée sur une longue finale. Simplement magnifique !!

This wine is still in its youth, it feels a bit like a cali-cab. The wine shows some heat, but has plenty of fruits. It will need a few more years before reaching its peak.

its been 18 months since I lasted tried this. On initial pour, it still had the raisiny taste but less than before. The tannins have completely gone. There is a port-like flavor to this that is unlike any wine I've had. Decanted and let sit for an hour. Seemed to get better after decanting and even better the next day.

Pretty sure this bottle has suffered some heat damage, the fruit is very raisinated and pruney. Lots of dried fruit and leather, not much freshness left in this bottle.

Decanted for one hour. Yielded a fair amount of sediment, and opened nicely. At first opening, the wine presented some dark red fruits, earth, high acidity and grippy tannins. After one hour, the tannins softened and integrated nicely, the fruit expanded and deepened to include some lighter, livelier red fruits, less earthiness, and nicely balancing acidity. This medium to plus bodied wine was a pleasure to drink, but I have a nagging feeling that it would have been even more pleasurable a couple of years earlier. Good QPR at $43 on sale.

Wine-pages Glasgow Festival of Wine Pre Offline (Cail Bruich, Glasgow): Quite a lot of bottle stink initially, but that largely blows off with aeration, revealing a subtle, mellow nose. Although there's a bit of rubber remaining even after vigorous aeration, giving it a somewhat reductive feel. I think for this to show at its best, it should have been decanted and allowed to sit in the decanter for an hour or so before drinking. Going back to the nose after a while, there is plummy black fruit and it now feels very, very slightly high toned. Very good palate. Lots of fruit and depth. Really rounded and generous.

This wine definitely needs some time to sit after opening to settle out. Very fruit forward with strong a raisin flavor to start. Was a bit disappointed after reading all the hype. Will see how it drinks on day 2. Got 5 more bottles which I hold for another year.

Portugal Reds 1988-2013: Ripe fruit and vanilla, rather jammy bouquet. Merlot fruits with low acidity but also rather restrained, not plush or unfocused. Very long in the mouth, also a bit drying, pruny finish. Warm and cosy wine.

Dark intense colour, blackcurrants and black fruits on the nose, very intense with floral accents. The next day (18 hours after opening) I could smell also some meaty hints. Fantastic concentration just after opening as well as 18 hours after! Very fruity with long, silky finish

Blackberries. Deep dark and red fruit. Nose announces a great wine. A little vegetal note I can't figure out. Great concentration with ultra fine tannins... What a classy wine. Incredible concentration and extremely elegant. Feels like being hit by silk gloves of a beautiful 19 year old girl ... Lingers on sugar cane (fresh ) and some coffee . This is an amazing wine... I've only drank few bottles like this... Wow!!! Douro at its best!!

Symington-smaking i regi av Aperitif (Gamle Logen, Oslo): Farge: Dyp, tett, mørk rubinrød mot blålilla. Duft: Dyp, elegant frukt av mørke bær. Smak: Bløtere, rikere enn Post Scriptum (2de vin), lang ettersmak, meget velbalansert, en god vin. Trolig en meget interessant matvin. Lang ettersmak. Denne kan faktisk matche LBV i smaksrikdom.

Elegant. Opens with a pruny and bold nose. Vibrant, spicy and acidic, it's an easy play for food. Plenty of tannins tell me it has time under the hood. Complex and satisfying. A departure from what most of us drink every day. A Lisbon purchase -- glad I captured it.

Serious depth, quality and a long savoury length but hard to enjoy as it's still young.
Tasted at a dinner party with other friends from the wine industry. Layers of spicy he flavours such as liquorice, deep dark fruits and bacon. Structured tannins add to it's weight though it is still smooth and easy to drink.
A tricky wine which was enjoyed on an analytical basis, and given a high score because of its depth, complexity, length and power, but it was actually hard to enjoy this wine, and normally love Portuguese reds. I can understand why this wine has been made and am eager to see what might happen in the next 5-8 years but would not drink again until then.

Very nice as all Chryseia's I had. No need for decanting, but due to age, lot of sediment.

A little purple and opaque. Over 10 years old and mellowed out nicely. A pleasant wine for what is a heavy styled red.
