Tasted double blind. Black fruit with dried herb and anise. Good balance, nicely fresh. I correctly identified this as US Pinot Noir, but thought it younger. At first I almost thought it Burgundy Villages from a young, ripe vintage, but a little more lush sweetness started emerging within 10-15 minutes.
Juicy red fruit, raspberry, cherry. Really nice, dense fruit. The price tag is a bit steep for what you are getting here, but that should not detract from the wine by itself. It's a delicious, juicy wine with good acidity and nice balance. The spice and cola is a bit subtle, but there. Good drinker.
