Pop and pour. Delicious, though it's a little on the heavy/cloying side to me this time, and a little lacking in acid. Nice melon flavors, some chalk. $22

Mineral and citrus/pear on the nose. Light golden yellow color; crisp acidity on the palate with a somewhat long finish. I keep going back to this wine time and again, a definitey winner. Especially good with seafood/shellfish. Tonight I paired this Godello with Monkfish Provencal over rice.

My third bottle of this outstanding Verdejo. Opened and poured. The nose has a hint of vanilla followed by peach, apricot and lime. There is a nice creaminess and minerality on the palate with butterscotch followed again by apricot, peach, Bartlett pear and lime. Nice acidity. Medium to full body with a long finish.

Rich with noticeable oak but decent acidity. I could see this being excellent with a rich fish dish. It became more enjoyable after several sips. In terms of comparison to Chardonnay, I dislike most Chardonnay but liked this. I enjoyed and was glad to have tried, but probably would not buy again at this price point.

Drank with friends a few hours ago. Tropical fruit on the nose and palate with a rich, full-bodied aspect. Nice balance between acidity and perceived sweetness. Nice wine that I would happily buy again, but would drink sooner than I did in this case.

Dag, I'm fairly sure this was flawed. The cork was completely dried out and squeaky, and there's a distinct acetic bite that's masking the fruit. If I had to rate it as it is, it'd still be in the mid-80s, but this isn't the same wine I've had before. Oh well.

Popped and poured. Very unique wine. Lots of kiwi, pear and lemon, with a slightly coarse, almost tannic note that reminds me of a Rhone white. Great acidity. Round body, but not at all heavy. Balanced oak, tremendous concentration. Really delicious stuff. $23 WB

ArieS and pyang do Dallas: Tasted non blind at a wine dinner. Opened and served immediately. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of lime, a hint of sulfur and plenty of wet stones. Flavors of lime, peach and apricot. Bright acidity, light to medium body. Drink over the shorter term. Consistent with previous bottles. 91.

Saturdays at One - Volume 28: Tasted blind. Yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of pears, apples, a little vanilla and some apricots. Flavors of green apples, peaches and pears. Medium acidity, light to medium body. Drink over the short term. My guess is this is the 2008 Bodegas Avanthia Valdeorras.

Pale yellow. Mineral and stone fruit nose. The minerality in the aroma reminds me of a Puligny. Wow! This is really good! Among other things, I am getting pear, apple and spice. The fruit is tart and concentrated. Great finish with good acidity and a little residual sweetness. Spectacular wine for the price.

Lime, straw, delicious. If these flavors are all natural - Gil and Jorge have hit a homerun here. Good solo or with food. Paired very well with quinoa topped with collards, yucca and coconut milk. Wife liked it too.

Pale straw color, zesty citrus nose with crushed stones. Light to medium-bodied, there is riper fruit on the palate, maybe a very ripe honeydew, but a very taut acidity keeps it firm on the mineral driven finish.
Michael brought this last night as a match for a shrimp cocktail and it was spot on, even handling the demon cocktail sauce. The acid could cut rocks but it works here.

Wow. This is a COMPLETE wine. The nose is loaded with notes of meyer lemon skin, hints of oak and layers of fresh melon. On the palette this wine somehow manages to do it all. The attack conveys a delicious richness, but the wine immediately transitions into a mid-palette rife with killer citrus, some slightly rounded tropical fruit and AWESOME acid. The wine finishes well with loads of minerals and chalk, but also loads of delicious acid. My FAVORITE white wine in quite some time. Get it, and quickly. Only 400 cases made. I bought four bottles at 26 bucks each. Money WELL spent. Cheers.

35-40 year old vines. This saw 8 months 30% new French and American oak. It was barrel fermented as well. This had the good qualities you look for in a white Burgundy and a big Cali Chard. Nose of vanilla, preserved lemon, apple and stone fruit. Medium to full body. Medium acidity and a big, refreshing finish. Tough to beat under $30. B+/A-

Nose immediately smells of butter (oak?) and metal; transports me back to Corton Charlemagne, something I was not expecting at all! A touch of Sauvignon blanc acidity, but very restrained. Less oaky butterinness on palate than expected. Olives, just a touch of heat from the 13.5. All in all, a great nose, but too thin on the palate. Do not aerate or decant: you'll do it no favors...
