Golden yellow with hint of green. Aroma of pear and tart green apple with a faint hint of tropical fruits. Medium bodied and nice mouthfeel. Palate is clean and crisp with toned down apple/pear fruits with citrus undertones and hints of vanilla. Perfect balance of acids. Still drinking well.

Bright yellow color. Aromas of spiced pear, and lemon. Palate has green apple, lemon, pear, and floral elements that carry into a medium-long finish that showcases a fair amount of acidity. This seems fresher than the Edition Limitee from 2007 and is in a great spot for my tastes. Drink.

Medium-bright yellow-gold color. Aromas of pear, applesauce, and a hint of vanilla. Palate is floral with pear and yellow apple fruit in the middle and a vanilla-tinged medium-long finish. Holding very steady and drinking well. I don't know if these develop into something more or not, but they drink great for many years from the vintage. Drink or hold.

Great effort from DD, beautifully aromatic, yet restrained and balanced. Nice, clean palate of varied white fruit leading to a well-integrated vanilla oak-driven finish, which coats the mouth very pleasantly. It took a little while to open up, but it was worth the wait. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is starting to show some secondary flavors and signs of maturity, and while it drank beautifully that night, I think it will continue to develop for at least several years, before it starts declining. The very well balanced acidity and integrated oak provide a nice backbone, on which the wine can age. Wish I had more, so I can try it in another five years.

Medium yellow-gold color. Aromas of ripe pear, apple, lemon grass, and melon. Palate is still fresh and clean with pear, apple, lemon, and melon notes dominating. Finish shows some vanilla and floral notes and is medium in length. Drinking well and may develop with some more bottle age. Drink or hold.

nose: was tight on pop n pour with really good and balanced tones of white fruits, vanilla, florals, flinty mineral tones and some white peaches as well. Nice depth as it opens up more.
taste: medium/full bodied with good medium acidity that is fairly refreshing. Well balanced with good depth and really good tones of vanilla, white fruits, white peaches. There is nice fatness on the mid-palate as well.
overall: This took about a good hour to full open up. This was a pop n pour and has a light gold color to it. Very classy as well with a really good feel. The acidity is in balance right now, but this can age longer.

Stunning! A real example of how Oregon Chardonnay can stand up to white Burgundy, in this case evoking Puligny-Montrachet. Luminous, silvery-yellow color. Nose of white rose petals and wet wood. Very dry, clean palate, giving way to an extremely long, richly-oaked finish of cantaloupe(!) and butter that differentially coated the back of the throat and the back of the tongue. We swooned.

Solid and very Burgundian Chardonnay from Drouhin. Cristal clear in color, nose of pineapple and light green apple, and a subtle, yet palate-filling fruit profile that needs time to evolve in the glass, with judicious oak and a touch of vanilla in the distant background. Could easily mistake this for a Maconnais Burg. Medium and very pleasant finish.

Really strong aromas of uncooked buttery pastry on opening; somewhat leesy in fact. After some time, the yeasty aromas faded to the background, leaving butterscotch, vanilla, dried nuts and a nice amount of fresh citrus marmalade fruit in the fore. Palate more steely than one would have guessed from the aromas. But nicely round, smooth, good depth of fruit and balancing acidity. Finishing long and quite rich still. Excellent wine. I'd say this still has a few good years ahead of it.

Still drinking quite well. Nice light golden colour with gorgeous Chardonnay body. Not overly oaked, but a nice blend of fruit, oak, warmth, and bold enough to hold up to heavy foods. There is no rush to drink this at this point. Should be able to sit for at least another 3-5 years without major loss of roundness and flavour.

Brought to wine group dinner at Two Chefs -- this one of three whites with first course following a delicious 1993 Bollinger Grand Annee to start us out. Several tasters thought it a Chablis or white burgundy. First time an Oregon chardonnay has been brought to a group dinner.

Very Chablis-like in style, with restrained fruit and nose, opens with minerality and acidic backbone early, then green apple fruit emerges immediately thereafter, touch of sea salt on back palate and finish. Not getting the oakiness referenced in other reviews, we found it very restrained. Suspect this one would age for 5-10 years without question. Ideal pairing with shellfish or light-bodied seafood. Excellent.

Picked this little beauty up in the Berry Brothers sale for just £12. Bargain of the century! As good as many a top village Chassagne for probably almost half the price. Still a little too oaky perhaps, but underlying that there is a great richness of fruit and a lovely spicy kick on the fantastic length. Vanilla, dried citrus fruit peel, and some stone fruit minerality. Nicely poised, not fat at all. Will improve I am sure over the next 3-5 years.

Beautiful Burgundy style chard - one of the best chards in the West if you ask me.
Rich bright golden straw color. A nose of pear, citrus and honeysuckle. The sweet pear, kiwi & granny smith notes are perfectly balanced in this well structured wine. The wonderful river rock provides that minerality that helps bring depth to the wine. A wonderful mouth feel the gives hints of cream but leaves a long crisp finish.

Took the recommendation of the Sommelier at a good restaurant to give this wine a go. Drouhin is an excellent maker but I have never tried the Oregon wines. Arthur combines strong acidity, with some petillance, plus a little oaking to give a long finish, an unusual pairing. Matched the wine with a tasting menu comprising, amongst other things, soup, beef carpaccio, seafood ravioli and seabass. The wine went well with all of the dishes. I enjoyed it and would certainly try it again or buy it if I saw it instore.

Pale straw color in the glass. Aromas of pear, green apple, yellow flowers, lemon, and butterscotch. On the palate, this is tart, crisp, and clean, showing green apple, lemon, and butterscotch, primarily, followed by yellow flowers and pear, and a hint of stoniness on the finish. The finish does pick up some bitter notes that I associate with alcohol, although no overt heat shows to me at this time. I don't expect Dijon clone-based wines from Oregon to age, but this seems to have the structure to go a few years without decline, at least.

Just...captivating. I love a Chardonnay made in this style, and Arthur has personality in spades. The nose is an almost perfect ringer for Valentine's day candy hearts, but the balance on the palate between the oak batches and stainless steel batches give it depth as well as a backbone of acid. Went back and tasted again at the end, wow.

This wine has real nice balance and the acidity in it is just right, this one mimicks a Chablis. The nose was of lemon meringue, mineral and a honey-vanilla aroma as well. On the palate lemon meringue, honey-vanilla and minerally. It is drinking good now, but this one will improve with age. Another wine that is excellent on its own, but paired with the right food will make it even better.

Bright yellow in glass. Effusive aromas of pear, baked apples, and pie spices. On the palate, this shows loads of pear, nutmeg, vanilla, yellow delicious apple, and a hint of butterscotch. Not as overtly alcoholic as the 2005 and 2006, this is showing very well fresh off of the truck.

Acidic and bitter. Unbalanced. A real disappointment. Maybe it was a bad food pairing (chicken with shiitake mushrooms).

Medium straw color. Pear and green melon nose. On the palate, a hint of bitter almond, green melon, ripe pear, and a hint of vanilla and nutmeg spice. Bitter notes on the finish seem to be integrating a bit from prior notes in May. Drink or hold.

straw color, a bit of citrus fruit and fresh cut grass on the nose, lively acidic backbone, definitely crafted for the dinner or lunch table, crisp lemon and mineral flavors fill the palate, held up by a round, medium body, with good balance, styled in the Burgundy sense, very nice

Harvest moon over Willamette Valley; 9/20/2009-9/25/2009 (Willamette Valley, various wineries): Nose: Stern and more unforgiving than all the other chardonnays we tasted this week. Pear and some more subtle floral notes over wet stones
Mouth: crisp, fresh
Finish: long
For some reason, I have never been in love with Arthur, but I admire the style and would like to see if they will hold up and develop secondary flavors.

Honey drizzled lemon, apple, pear, and cream on the palate. Tight nose of stone, citrus, apple, and hay. Decent finish with medium - acidity.

Purchased off the list at the Lark Creek Cafe, Walnut Creek. Served slightly chilled. This is my first experience with a Drouhin chard and I was impressed. Lots of mineral with some citrus and a tangy finish. As it warmed up, more cold honey and hay. Very Good.

Beautiful burgandy style chard - one of the best chards in the West if you ask me.
Rich bright golden straw color. A nose of pear, citrus and honeysuckle. The sweet pear, kiwi & granny smith notes are perfectly bananced in this well structured wine. The wonderful river rock provides that minerality that helps bring depth to the wine. A wonderful mouth feel the gives hints of cream but leaves a long crisp finish.

Richmond Wine Society Oregon Pinot Tasting (St. Thomas Episcopal Church): Burgundian in style, perhaps a mersault. Great fruit and acidity, toasty oak, no butter and a smooth finish. Very well made.

I'm not much of a Chard fan. For my palate this wine works just fine. Nothing distinct in taste or smell that is jumping out at me.

The nose shows apples, nice light oak, and a bit of heat. The oak is strong when tasted, and some nice apple notes linger. Reminds me of a Mersault in style.
