Pale Ruby-garnet . Intense and complex nose with red fruits, floral and animal notes. Medium body. medium acidity, a lot of red fruits and perfume on the palate. Medium to long finish. Excellent!

An alluring nose with sweet red currant, coffee beans and potpourri. Palate had crunchy and sappy red fruit with a slightly modern touch. More Vosne than Clos Vougeot. I suspect the wine was chaptalized. Not very complex but very enjoyable. Even in magnum format, it is drinking at its plateau. Always like Vougeraie’s Clos Vougeot as it offers great qpr.

Very lifted nose of red cherries and savoury notes. As it develops it shows smoky barrel and spice characters and some pomegranate. On palate this is a bit of an unusual wine; it's quite spritzy with cranberry and some sweet cherries. Plenty of discussion as to whether this is microbial development or a secondary malolactic fermentation in the bottle resulting in as lightly carbonic fizz. On the second day the fizz has gone. The savoury character has turned more bretty. So mid palate is a bit pinched. Very much into secondary development with colour showing advancement. A bit of a disappointment.

Clear, light ruby in appearance. Aromas of strawberry, smoke, mocha and hint of stone and iron, very soothing. On the palate, red fruits driven, earthy, with excellent balance and acidity, light in weight yet tasty mid palate with soften tannins. Nice long finish, filled with cherry, smoke and oak.

Clos Vougeot Masterclass, with James Handford MW (Handford Wines, London): Light bricking in colour, def looks and feels older than an 07. Smoky, mocha notes. We liked this quite a bit at this stage although most of the group didn’t like its more obvious and fruit forward side. Interesting mix of freshness and sweetness. Which begs the question of whether this was heavily chaptalised. Firm, grippy tannin, feels young but still a giving wine. Ripe fruit, a bit built for earlier drinking but quite enjoyable at this stage. – 91

Popped and poured. Nose of violets, cherries and the aroma kept improving in the glass over an hour. A terrific amount of soft sweet fruits which are gradually backed by fine tannins filling out the palate, it has good length and is well structured. Quite elegant and enjoyable at this young age and it can reach its peak in 3-4 years.

Burgundy 2006-2007 Tasting (Bistro Chernichovsky, Tel Aviv): Powerful and crazy nose, mostly floral. Excellent palate, in harmony with the nose. Full bodied, very good structured and sweetness. Medium finish. Excellent (147$)
