Opening this bottle was like prying open an old cedar chest left at the bottom of the basement -- an overwhelming, musty-congested, ghostly-thick aroma permeated the surroundings. Not pleasant but sufficiently complex to be worthy of studying. Once the must blew off, what was left in the glass revealed a wine past its prime. The fruit was more sour green pepper than berry. Significant deterioration since the last tasting 18 months ago.

This is rather delightful. A broad nose more of flowers than fruit. A touch of stems and earth. Still evolving in the bottle hours after opening. Tannins pucker the mouth so it becomes half its size.

Disappointing. At it's best within 30 seconds of opening, its fruit dissipated quickly into a soupy tomatoey goop with overtones of soy and earth. Retains an air of spicy personality but it is subsumed by the attack of the killer tomatoes. This should be shouting from the rooftops but instead it's pretty much Vosne Les Suck-o.

Good balance, structure and acidity. Still plenty of tannin though to overshadow the fruit. Needs a couple more years to settle down. Drink in 2014

Their version of a Pinot Noir, wonderfully big aroma, dry, had a brick brown color.
