A little too developed on the nose, with honey and brulee dominating. It still has a core of exotic fruits and is a rich wine, but detail has been planed off by oxygen.

Golden straw yellow color. The nose is heavenly and intense, powerful and lovely. Fat notes of butter, hazelnut and asparagus. Palate is a bit bitter, tasted right after the sweetness of Egon Muller Kabinett unfortunately. Still lovely with newly mowed lawn.

Not oxidized whatsoever. Here is minerals and certainly oak, citrus, acidity, the style is rich, spicy even, especially if you consider the vintage. Typical Lafon, I would say, but the wine is still fresh and has years to go - probably opened to young. 91+

Opened initially showing mostly light-floral citrus notes with a hint of smoke. Filled out throughout the night into a beautiful mineral-driven wine. Weighty on the palate but very elegant.

Very nice. a very clean citrusy nose. Initial minerally lemon flavors with light roasted woody herb notes without green pea, bell pepper or other undesirable green flavors. As the wine warms above 55, the herbal notes blow off to form a very minerally driven wine with a lovely citrus, extract finish. Doesn't have the Meursault fatness I love but great length on this wine with quite a bit of finishing extact.

One of the best villages white Burgundies I've ever had. And even from the unheralded 2001 vintage. Everyone at the table was absolutely in love with this wine. WOTN for everyone, even better than the '90 Ch. Margaux we had. I know Lafons can be overrated, but this one was underrated.

Very surprized at how good the wine was since many white burgundies seemingly are dying within 7 years despite impeccable storage. This wine had nice tropical fruit on the nose and a zesty acidic finish that lingered on the palate.

Apparently fashioned from declassified 1er Crus including a generous helping of La Goutte d’Or. Closed aromatically without the usual Meursault fatness. The bright fruit works great with the chevre.
