Tawny ruby to beige edges. Medium nose of overripe red and black stone fruit, with a little old leather. The fruit on the palate is lighter and fresher, while accompanied by evidence of age, bramble and dirt. Refreshing, medium long finish.

Lovely juice. Bright, brambly fruit on the front with a savory, wild herbal, mineral finish. In a perfect window for drinking now and all is in balance.

Nice. This really is a lovely vintage, up there with 2004. This bottle showed a little closed. I think there may still be some tannin left to resolve, but all the elements are in place.

Tart red fruit, Bret that fads with air, tons of minerality, outstanding balance. The typical light skinned, high acid wines I find myself gravitating to lately.

I am a big fan of red wines from the Jura, and this bottle lived up to my past experiences. Light translucent red that had a wonderful peppery and pure palate with a very nice finish

Opens a little musty, to the point that I thought it was corked. It wasn't. Instead it's at a bit of an in between stage, beginning to show some development, but only just beginning.

Clear tawny ruby. Bright nose of cool mountain air and fresh blackberries. The attack is smooth and almost sweet, but soon becomes tart crushed fruit salad. Slightly savory and leafy finish, medium-long and very clean. Lots of flavor for a wine so light in color and texture.

Showed well on day 1 with some tannins sticking out on day 2. It did remind me of Puffeney's Pinot Noir as well which to me suggests that its not very open for business.

A Night of Jura Wines (Polena - Washington, DC): 92 points. i loved this wine that much. vibrant ruby colored in the glass. the nose is gorgeous: soft red fruit, rich top soil, dill pickles and herbs. i could smell this wine forever, as it just kept opening up more and more. the palate is soft and sexy and very reminiscent of pinot noir, at least to me. (this wine is made from the trousseau grape). laser-like intensity and focus. delicious red fruit and mineral flavors laced with herbs. less tannic than a young burgundy, but still some grip. the finish is really long and gorgeous. my first taste of a trousseau, and i'm very impressed.

I get the smokey thing, too. I think it's from the tannin, which is clamping down. This is quite substantial, in its idiom. It opens disjointed but comes together with an hour or two of air in a decanter. No doubt it would have kept improving, but we didn't give it the chance.

Smoke-infused dark fruit, very mineral, some herbs and earth. Very good, but also a bit disjointed. Day 2 the wine really shines - the smoke is gone (which I honestly don't understand), the wine is crystalline and pure, the dark fruit almost luscious in character, although the overall package is lean and elegant. Underneath everything is a wide band of solid rock. Delicious wine.

I have rated this wine a 94 b/c it is absolutely spetacular. Long a fan of Jura reds, esp the master Puffeney, this one took me to a whole new level of appreciation. Playing in the snow all day, and expecting this to be the ultimate apre-ski drink, got my expectations up, but this wine really delivered. A gorgeous laser beam of bright red fruits, mountain herbs, and some subtle vegetal characteristics hemmed in w/ perfect acidity. So easy drinking and perfectly a pointe. This is not a meditation wine, but one to enjoy with good friends and some salumi. I could drink this everyday and be happy.

False-alarm on this closing down, if this bottle is at all representative. It's got all the usual appeal, high-tone fruit, great purity, a lovely example.

A bit of a stinky, burnt rubber smell. Hard to discern the fruit underneath. Unbalanced on the palate, with acidity overpowering what little fruit there is. Pretty disappointing wine. Extraction was sub-par, even for an old world wine.

Nice purity of red fruit, surprisingly structured as it opens. I think this is starting to close up a bit and that is why the tannin and acidity seems more prominent tonight. Wait a bit on opening the next bottle.

Popped and poured. Should have decanted -- this really benefitted from some air. Beautiful color. Strawberry, candied cherries, maybe a hint of anise on the nose. Lots of acid. Good tannic structure. A bit thin in the mid-palette and in the finish (thanks to the acid). Great, great food wine. Steal for $28. Drinks like the best cru Beaujolais.

Day one this was nice but a bit closed, with very fine but fuzzy tannin obscuring details and finish. Day two this is popping. Ripe cane berry aromas, sandalwood and spice, licorice root and rosehip, perhaps just a hint of celery stick. Gorgeous palate, so juicy and direct, just beautiful, surprisingly long as well. Easily the best trousseau I've yet tasted from Puff Daddy; would benefit from a brief sojourn in the cellar but such tremendous upside.

Everyone has been summing it up well. I do second the possibility that it might be time to put this one away for awhile. It is incredibly pure at the moment but the structure is showing a bit much. The cherry fruit is delicious. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Incredible wine. Like good Burgundy. Slightly darker and more tannic than the Poulsard but not by much. I would die happy if I only drank wine like this.

Bill's Monthly Lunch - May 2010 (Vancouver, BC): Lighter red in colour. Bright red fruits on the nose with raspberry, cherry and a touch of well integrated oak. In the mouth it gives lots of cranberry with tart red berry fruits. Lighter in body. Hints of tannins, lots of acidity and good length. It’s delicious now but I think it will get better. Excellent. 90+

K and I liked better than expected. Light to medium bodied. Delicate and feminine, somewhat like a pinot, with less cherry. Nice with food. Would recommend.

OK, I got more. It is the real thing, but it seems like it may be shutting down. It was still a pleasure last night, but it took some time in the decanter and the structure is creeping up on the fruit. The fruit is still there, and it has the hallmark weightless intensity. I would say pull the cork soon or wait two to three years or so for it to sort itself out.
