this followed a 1993 tokaji aszu essencia, so it was a tough act to follow. this was more full-bodied and showed peach and apricot flavors with a some citrus fruit and honey and little smoke and ginger. this didn't have nearly the acid that the tokaji had, so it made it seem a little more top-heavy and out of balance. overall, it was a very good wine and i would have probably appreciated it more in a different context.

This bottle had a very deep gold color, and a full nose of grapefruit and apricot. Less acidity than I remember, but very mouth-filling. Quite sweet, but a nice wine with very spicy Indian food at Shalimar.

This was a nice surprise. I saw this on sale at Wine House SF for $27 and I couldn't resist picking one up. It has a beautiful sparkling golden color, and a full nose of grapefruit, with hints of apricot and vanilla. The attack is eye-opening with bracing acidity and gobs of fruit. The palate shows a full bodied wine that tastes of apricots and tangerines. The finish is long and leaves you thinking of ripe citrus in summer. Very nice, and worth picking up a bottle or two more at the price. This will easily last another 5 to 7 years.
