Wow! This has aged very well. Blackberry and raspberry notes combined with licorice and pepper/spices. Silky and long finish. Paired amazingly perfectly with cacio e pepe. The finish went on and on with the pepper! Also paired really well with short ribs and buttery mashed potatoes. And paired really well with a poached lobster, mango, red pepper, and avocado dish. I hope people still have a few of these in their cellar!

Just an excellent bottle of wine all the way around. Beautiful nose, mouthwatering acid on the palate, and a smooth finish. Quite satisfying and enjoyable.

Ruby red, translucent with some some lightening toward the rim. Nose is clean with some floral and a bit of light smoke. Wish I was getting more from the nose. The palate is much stronger with dark cherries, some chocolate, and banking spices. Finish has depth. Overall this is in good balance and I can see of few more years of this peaking.

Not very expressive bouquet. Good balance with acid plus and secondary flavors. Softened but noticeable tannins. Medium length. Worked amazingly well with Osso Buco on safron risotto.

Consumed two bottles of this Barolo on the same night with friends at Rose's Luxury in downtown DC (great restaurant BTW). Decanted them separately for 1-1.5 hrs before consuming. I actually tried one of the bottles before leaving my house using a Coravin and the win definitely needed time to breath and open up.
This wine was excellent and borderline amazing.
Lots of fragrance on the nose including red fruit (blackberries I believe), oak, and some wild flowers. At times I got a whiff of anise too.
The flavors on the palate include a little oak, dark fruit, and spices. This is definitely a full bodied wine and the tannins were velvety which gave the wine a very smooth and long finish.
I don't know how much the wine will improve from here because I would say the tannins are fully integrated now, however, there is still enough tannin and acidity to allow it to cellar for a while longer IMHO.
Bottom line is I am glad I have more of this wine in my cellar.

Fully mature with aromas of violet, potpourri, earth, licorice, a bit of dark cherry. The flavors match with the fruit a bit more forward. Integrated medium tannins/acid. Tasty stuff, should last through its 15th birthday though I don't see it improving further.

Opened, poured into a decanter, and tasted about 1 hour after decanting. Dark purple/red color. Just the slightest sign of bricking around the edge. Rose petal nose with dark black fruits. Wonderful flavors of cherries with that floral element coming through on the finish. Tannins well integrated. There is a nice softness to this wine. Delicious.

Surprising this one.... Has really come around since last bottle. No formal notes. Nose of bright red cherry, black tea, tobacco(??). Palate much the same. Very nice balance (in stark contrast to the Cali cab we drank earlier) great fresh fruit, licorice, with plenty of acidity and a fine dusting of tannin. Seems as if it should drink well for another 5 or more years.

Full nose of earthy fruit. Heavy fruit on the palate, along with earth, cedar, pencil, and a bit of heat. Nine years old but still very young. Maybe try this again when it's a teenager.

Opened and decanted; let sit for 3 hours. Then served with a beef stew with polenta. Good nose of tar and dried rose petals. Lead pencil shavings too. Wonderful rich black fruits with a solid core of earth and cedar with slight notes of herbs. The tannins, while noticeable, are not out of bounds for this wine.

I was craving some Barolo this evening so decided to give this a try. Probably popped it at least 3 years too early. Oh well. Just never seemed to come into its own. Started off with too much oak and then the acid and tannins overwhelmed. The little I had left on day two showed promise. Hold off for a while.

This seems a little early to be drinking this one. Lot's of oak on the nose, some cherries, and a bit of a cola thing too. Decent balance, with some cherry fruit and nice tannic structure on the end. I think I'll wait (at least) a couple of years for my other bottles and hope the oak falls off a bit.

{ST} No decant, and that's a shame given this is a neonate. Usual garnet color, medium body. Lovely nose of rose petals, sour cherries, rhubarb, and cigarette. On the palate, intensely focused raspberries, sour cherry and orange peel intertwined with tobacco, black pepper and coffee. Medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins are refined and of course tight, but surprisingly this is not altogether forbidding. Long finish. Built for a good long haul, and may well reach the lofty WS and RP scores after a few more years of sideways time. Given the typical anty for barolo, this seems a very good value at 50.

Cherry and smooth some dark fruit taste. Some tannins present ends quickly. Definitely ready and mature likely will not get any better

Not bad. Not great. Lots of fruit but miss the final punch that a big slutty napa cab gives.
My taste buds still need to devolpe to these Barolo wines.

This has been open for four hours now and has offered little of interest throughout. Varietally correct but just not memorable.
