  • The cork was removed early in the morning and the wine was left undisturbed until the evening. It showed well, with aromas of sweet licorice, dark chocolate, black cherries, hints of leather and exotic spices. The palate is fairly balanced, with smooth tannins and good acidity, and the finish is long, with undertones of licorice and berries. But it only shows this well with slow oxygenation. Pop-and-pour or decanting did not deliver the same results. Drink from now until 2016.

  • Well integrated nose, high notes of mint ,lots of good dark fruit. medium complexity. Great sour purple plums, notes of menthol, a great coolness to the mouth feel. Moderate finish. This wine is very balanced and ready to drink

  • I've been so curious about the raves thrown at the 2007 Rhones. I threw this 2004 into a mixed case purchase. The nose was bold with scents of liquorice, coffee, blackberry and honey. Tannins were forefront and tasted chalky. This light-bodied wine tasted woody with berries and vanilla. I was surprised at how much punch the juice lost after two hours of decanting. Overall, this is a very pleasant wine, especially for the price, which quickly lost its edge. I will not decant the next bottles. I recommend this one, not great, but solid.
