From a split: Gorgeous sublime restrained earthy, brassy, currant and cranberry nose. High tones red brassy fruit favors with pine, mushroom, earth. Mouthfeel, Flavors and tannin were tense. Nice acids. Somewhat angular without being piercing. Finish was lengthy with savory characteristics and no heat. This wine in this format is much better at this stage then it's 750mL counterpart. Got better with throughout the 3 hour dinner suggesting that it would have benefitted from a decant. Another sh**ty 07 Pinot.

Fairly linear, shrill high toned notes with early presence of savory secondaries. Alcohol present from nose to finish. Will try lengthy decant next time.

Starting to brick up a bit (so to speak). Love this wine every time, now showing signs of relatively early maturation. Fruit still vibrant and on the red side of the ledger. Aromatically picking up a bit more caramel and smokiness than in the past. A little heat surprisingly shows through. Still fantastic overall, though. Plan is to have one of these per year for the next 3 years, and looking forward to it.

taste: lighter on the palate, but far from thin and lacking. Medium+ acidity gives it a nice spine along with tones of plums, berries, red fruits and a lot of rose petals
overall: yet again, a lovely young pinot. Well balanced and very fragrant that makes it very inviting. We were told that this was picked before the rains in 07

Perfect fare for Copper River Salmon and mushroom risotto. Juicy strawberries, baking spices, cloves, mushroom, light pepper, and Oregon Coast sea breeze. Light yet mouthfilling flavors. Medium plus finsih.

V good example of a well made Pinot in a so so year. 13% alcohol due to cooler season means more fruit, acid balance without burden of heat. Currant and radish-basil?

One-hour decant. Deep maroon color. Thick legs. The nose is very broad and lush, with a great smoky background. The initial palate mixes good, ripe fruit and warm, clean earth. There's wonderful breadth and depth in the midpalate which engages all the points on the tongue. The smoke reappears in the midpalate harmonizing nicely with the tannins and acidity. There's oak in the background, but it remains there, never pushing to the forefront. The finish is suprisingly bright and fresh, with good length and tannic pucker.

Pale, browning, ruby/brick color. Restrained nose of leather, earth, red fruits, mostly strawberry, and some spice. Smooth, nicely balanced acid and tannins, good pop of subdued cherry and stawberry, quickly trailing off to a dry tongue. Nice wine, especially for lighter fare or just for sipping. Appears to already be peaking.

interesting nose of red fruits and earthy funk that seem to disappear mid-palate with a rather trim, boring finish. this could definitely use a bit more cellar time

Really enjoyed this wine. Super light in color, nice acids, a lil funk, long finish, and great with food. Strawberries, pine, earth, and cinnamon/baking spices on the nose. Light red fruit on the palate as well as moist earth, baking spices/cloves, leaves, a hint of mushrooms that I hope will come out more with age, Earl Grey tea, and rhubarb. Went extremely well with some Salmon and hummus. Becoming a huge fan of Brick House the more I try. I think/hope more secondary flavors (ala fungus) will come out with time sideways.

had this blind and thought for sure it was another wine, really thought I had it nailed. In the glass it was a distinct pail red really looked like a madura. On the nose it was all cinnimon, baking spices, minerals, starwberries and roasted red peppers but there was an elegants to it too, nothing was overpowering. Most everything transfer to the palate. Went very well w/cheese hummus, lamb and salmon. There was a hollowness in the mid palate that was the only draw back for me and I'm not sure if it was the wine or a pairing w/one of some of the foods. Interestingly enough it was gaining weight and color as it opened up. But this will forever be know as the "Antonio Banderas" wine....haha

The two 07 vineyard Pinots are in my wheelhouse. Great balance, nice acidity, some minerals, earth, clove, white pepper, perfectly ripe strawberries and more red fruit, rhubarb, pine, and on and on. The Dij was a little closed but had me asking for another pour. Some great new world and old world qualities.

Not much life left in this, drink up if you have some. Popped and it was okay to start but faded fast.

Monthly Tasting Group: An Embarrassment of Oregon Riches (Spoon & Stable, Mpls, MN): Small pour. Another in a series of really good wines, savory, sous bois, red fruits, elegant, excellent. Another winery that nailed the vintage.

Gorgeous. Incredibly well-balanced with great texture. Earthy. Not likely to improve much from here, but wow right now.

A ton of shitty 07 OR Pinots (Patricia Green Cellars, Newburg OR): nose: nice and fresh nose of red fruits, rose petals, lots of berry tones and bits of spices as well. Nice depth with a good feminine take to it
