what a lovely nose, sois bois, red fruits, a little oak. The palate had silky tannins, red fruits of cherries, raspberries and plums. It had a good slug of acid, maybe just a touch too much. The finish is amazing, sweet red fruits, a little chocolate and it just goes on and on. This is delicious and certainly worthy of #christmas dinner. Expensive but worth the money @harrogatewines but for a mature #grandcru this is a bargain £130. Well worth seeking out to #giveanewwineago 90 points

Tasted single blind tonight against 07 RSV and 72 Musigny. A fetching nose of Vosne spice that just draws you in and would not let go. Oh so polished and sophisticated aromatics! The taste however is a little too structured an unable to support the gorgeous nose. Acidity no doubt is a little jarring and reflective of the vintage.

Robe violacée. Beau nez qui s'estompe assez rapidement. Acidité vive qui se calme en une demi-heure. Le vin a une allonge moyenne, un fruit typique, un équilibre notable, mais tout de même assez peu de matière et de profondeur. La première fiole de l'an passée était tout de même nettement plus satisfaisante.

Dinner at Shelter in the Woods. Drank alongside the Lucien le Moine Echezeaux 2008. Dark red, with a deep and intense nose. Very representative of 2008, with lots of acidity, minerals and a touch of rusticity. Currants, sour cherries, blueberries, mocha, black tea and woodspice on the palate. Finish was short and lacking complexity. Its a decent wine, but you would expect something much more from a Grand Cru.

Une robe grenat. Superbe nez de pain, de violette, de sous-bois, de feuilles automnales et de fruits fermentés. La bouche tire sur les fraises poivrées. On dit même qu’il a la fraîcheur et la franchise d’un Chorey… Son acidité, très 2008, sans doute. Et pourtant, les arômes tertiaires rôdent ! Riche. Équilibré. On sent toutefois le vin fragile : Son superbe fumet ne dure pas très longtemps et sa longueur est moyenne. Ce vin-là, il me semble, ne pourra pas vieillir beaucoup.

Pours dark garnet. The first whiff was overwhelming… like a bag of ripe cherries and violets. Funny thing, after about 10 minutes the aroma completely blew off… I was shouting at the glass, “nooo, come back!”. Moral of the story: Don’t decant Burgundy needlessly! On the palate, cherries, plums, earth and this particular taste which I tried to place for a while until it came to me… it tasted almost like a Flanders Red Ale like Rodenbach Grand Cru (which also goes through oak aging). It evolved appreciably over time, almost like peeling different layers of plummy fruit, and each time revealing more spice and earth. Quite full bodied for Burgundy. The finish is soft and not as acidic as I expected. Tannins were subdued but lingering.

Au début un peu de bois, fruit rouge , pruneau , cerise , cote végétal , après ça ya une ptite acidité croquante qui arrive Et en final le fruit revient avec des notes d'évolution ( feuille morte , tabac ) j'ai eu juste un petit verre 89-92 ?? Dur à dire mais très intéressant

(ouvert 2 heures sans être épaulé ou carafé) Un vin équilibré, beaucoup sur le fruit (cerises griottes avec une pointe de pruneaux), mais avec une minéralité encore présente. Les tannins sont assouplis, et en se réchauffant, on réalise que des notes tertiaires avancées apparaissent. À mon avis, ce vin est à son summum en ce moment, sinon à boire d'ici 1-2 ans. Une belle complexité. J'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir avec ce vin.

Burgundy Thursday--23 juin 2011: from bottle Echezeaux Grand Cru—Very fat on the palate with soft tannins, especially for ’08. Nice integration of fruits with a little citrusy tartness to balance. Love the sweet crème de cassis on the mid-palate. Finishes well.

Domaine Lamarche Cellar Visit and Tasting (Vosne-Romanée): Tasting at Lamarche. An interesting contrast to Malconsorts just tasted, this already comes across as forward and enjoyable, but less powerful or concnetrated. Good weight and length. Also 89-91 point potential.

La robe est tuilée et briquée elle aussi.Pinot Noir des USA ?? Cela semble encore être un vieux millésime...
Légèrement boisé et vanillés...Un petit côté tertiaire et de feuilles mortes aussi.
Encore un peu de fruits rouges mais il semble être déséquilibré.Une finale assez acide en fin de bouche.
Je crois pas qu'il va tenir si longtemps ...sur la pente descendante (à mon avis ).
