This seems to be still be holding up well, and I hold to my earlier notes; bright berries and spice with decent acidity, nice color consistent to the varietal, and a nose consistent with the experience of the palate. Overall I find this is to be a wine I would serve to a friend with never a worry to be embarrassed. My rating might be generous but I have a glass and a half in me now, I am in good spirit, and I've no mind to change. Cheers to you Dan Tudor, job well done.
I liked this very much. Bright red berries on the nose and to the immediate palate. This followed with a pleasant earthiness and subtle spice on the mid palate and finish. Somewhat thin in both color and body, but not unduly so or in any way inconsistent of the varietal. This bottle held up well overnight and was as enjoyable on day two as day one. High marks for a good wine and I am looking forward to the next bottle to mark consistency.
Found this to be pretty solid. Moderate acidity has kept this fairly bright. Aromas of red fruit, mostly cherry. Tastes like it smells, red fruit with bright cherry. Little lacking in the mid palate and fairly short on the finish. Overall it was a good sub $20 pinot that went well with roast turkey breast and roast butternut squash.
Decent, with nice acidity, but not all that Pinot-y, unlike the previous bottle drunk in July 2010, which was thin-ish and very sour cherry tight, Pinot-y. Some cola, mushroom/earth notes, but not all that complex, but a decent drink nonetheless, and not bad on a budget.
Dirty red. Earthy nose, with strawberry and a bit of oak. Light to medium bodied, kind of sour cherries, older raspberries, drying herbs, leathery tannins, a little heat, and a somewhat long finish. The parts are there but it still seems a little off.
Basic Pinot Noir. Good fruit on the nose and on the attack. No mid palate to speak of and short abrupt finish. No tannins, so life is short on this one. Good QPR @ $15 as a weekday sipper. Would not seek out again.
This is a decent pinot noir. It is good for the price, and something that is a good weekday drinking wine. We opened this bottle with some 'authentic' Chinese food at a Wine Woot dinner. It did not pair well. Would be a better wine for cheese before a meal or to sip on after dinner.
