Medium red with slight browning at the edge. Strawberry, cherry, a hint of vanilla, charcoal on the nose. In balance. Moderate tannins, good acidity, and a medium finish. Strawberry, baking spices, a little oakiness, raspberry. Excellent.

Initially interesting but muted exotic spice nose. Tartly acidic, with borderline alcohol that thins the overall impression, medium-light body and fruit. Fumey finish. Structured for aging, but the alcohol is problematic. Fell apart quickly in the glass. Not really the style Littorai advertises.

It has been too long to write a formal note, but this was absolutely phenomenal Pinot! Had at a fine restaurant and paired beautifully with both my wife's truffle rosotto and my beef tenderloin. Highly recommended, I'd buy more in a heart beat!

We bought this bottle from the vineyard one year ago. It is our third of this bottling and now it has opened up into a beauty. Paired with Mexican matzah pizza. Beautiful red fruits augment an elegant balanced structure. This is exactly what Pinotphiles search for. Ted Lemmon's wine making skills are outstanding. California should be proud to produce a wine of such exemplary quality.

This is an excellent pinot with a lighter body but plenty of fruit, acid and minerality to make it a great companion of food. Very enjoyable without being heavy.

A beautiful, medium-bodied Pinot with a nice nose of fruit and a light easy palate. Overmatched and appearing a bit thin compared to the full-bodied, concentrated, and fantastic '07 Chasseur Umino Pinot we tasted it with, but the Les Larmes really was never meant to stack up. It did however offer a more feminine style that was great in its own right.

A very pretty, classy, feminine styled pinot noir. Super bright, with cranberry, cherry, pomegranate, and spice flavors on a medium bodied frame. Zippy, uplifting acidity makes this a natural match with food. Medium - long finish, tinged with a hint of stony minerality. Smooth and sophisticated, has the upfront appeal for immediate consumption, but enough structure to evolve for a couple of years; but with the outright sexiness of this wine at this point in its evolution, why wait?

Cherry & cola on the nose. Initially quite sweet but balanced with a brambly, biodynamic quality. Impressive wine and the best American pinot I've had that wasn't from Oregon. Good wine.

Again an awesome New World style which really offers up an interesting alternative to Burgundy. This was better than the last bottle I tried from this producer and I was pretty impressed on that occasion. There is immediate appeal in the soft carressing nature of this wine. Nothing edgy at all, a textural masterpiece which was served on a night when some real stars were on the table and more than held its own. Seductive and beautiully weighted with ethereal lightness and delicacy. Very classy package.

Littorai 2007 new releases tasting (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): A complex and interesting nose of vanilla pod, plum and blackberry - this is definately a darker Pinot, yet it retains so much of what would characterise this as feminine. The wine really expands to fill the glass. The palette is blackberry and coffee with delicate fruits elements and a big rich and lengthy finish.

Light clear red. Lovely red fruits with a certain sappiness on the finish suggesting this will last longer than the depth of it would suggest. A bit more substantive than the Roman Vineyard from the same year, but still lighter than a typical Littorai; perhaps a characteristic of the vintage? Nevertheless, excellent purity and a lovely drink

Tasting very nice right now. Full of dark fruit with plenty of backbone. It benefited from being decanted for an hour before drinking.
