  • Brad brought this beauty out to Osteria Via Stato with myself, Jill, Annie, Brill and Liz. Fantastic dinner as it was our first time meeting Liz.
Drank this after an '06 Pergole Torte which showed wonderfully as well.
So much expressive royal and elegant aromatics - those of a $200 California Cab. So much ripe lush fruit - creme de cassis, cherry and raspberry Jolly Rancher, rose, milk chocolate, bubble gum, cotton candy. Expansive nose.
The palate was stunning as well but not as surprising as the nose. You'd think by the weight that the alcohol was out of control, but according to the label it's 14% (not low but not 15 or something).
I cannot recommend searching out this line of Cabs from Catena Zapata.
