A bit dusty on the nose, tea leaves, earth. On the palate bright acidity, slightly woody, notes of coffee, a bit drying and a hard towards the medium finish. A very good bottle. Showing well with some life left in it, but time to drink up.

Top shoulder fill, cork came out in one piece. Nose has strawberry and blackberry jam. Deep sniffs reveal toast, wet earth, Nutella, and basement. Palate is surprisingly fruity: berry compote, chalk, almond skin, and a complex, citrusy, long finish.

I agree with Turque. This was a little austere, but in a welcome way - some complexity and character. The nose was particularly beautiful. I really enjoyed it, although there are likley better older Bordeaux' for the price.

With turkey for Christmas dinner. The wine is in the classical style. It may appear somewhat austere against the fruitier styles of today's wines, but for me this provided lovely balance, lots of secondary aromas and flavours, and a lovely drink with the mild flavours of the turkey. Consume over the next three years.

This wine is completely mature and real pleasurable. Some cassis fruit left, clearly lead pencil and toasted oak. The tannin is completely softened. Drink within 1 – 2 years from now.
