Garnet color. Black berry, black cherry aroma. Drinking GREAT at pnp, light plum. Drink to 2030.
Hmm, hours later…gets lively, maybe only drink to 2027. Fresh, but earthy. Showing maturity. Earthiness as root beer (as opposed to new new oak as root beer). Mature raspberry kombucha, light tannin. Fine, but mature and fading. Crush the last btls quickly with food amongst friends…
Day 2…or maybe not. Comes back to a solidly enjoyable frame for drinking. Fruit pulls up in front. Cherry blossom and blackberry. Lots of freshness. Aromas would get a couple extra points over the palate.

14.5% alcohol; real cork with a maximum of 2 cm wine penetration, heavy-weight foil; medium duration legs, very dark purple; opened and kept in the fridge for 18 hours before tasting; vinturied and tasted at approximately 14 degrees C; nose of sweet/sour cherries, peaches, carrots, radishes, earth; full bodied, middle/sides of the tongue hit by a tangy, almost prickly, rush, embedded in softened tannins, a complex/layered wine with dark earth undertones, not especially fruit forward; unassertive medium to long finish; pair with beef or pork, preferably smoked on a gas or charcoal grill, or with alternating chunks of meat and vegetables grilled/smoked on skewers

This bottle followed the 07 Caymus, decanted and tasted, very rich and concentrated, loads of dark jammy fruit, hints of sweet vanilla, still some tannins and yes some life. Drink soon!

Big pungent nose showing off some berry aroma but a lot of oak bouquet. Velvety smooth on the tongue. I takes a few seconds to detect the fruit--maybe blueberry, maybe currants. A bit of detectable drying tannin on the tongue edges and the back of the throat, but, still, an easy wine to drink. A great food wine. I had it with grilled blue cheese-stuffed rolled flank steak. While this is an excellent wine today, I would not encourage anyone to leave this one in the cellar for very much longer.

Mineral nose and a little off blance. Not altogether terrible and with some time in the glass complimented a nice NY strip steak pretty well. More meineral than fruit IMHO.

I've missed quite a few of these bottles along the way. Maintenance Cabernet in its better form. Bright acid on blackberry up front. Classic with better acid than one would expect. Fruit is first, but a very solid expression. A flushed out Bordeaux style from Napa.

A friend brought this to dinner yesterday. Did not take notes, but I was very impressed. Rich, deep cabernet flavors of dark fruits, cedar, spice and earth with a firm, but not sharp, texture and a very nice, medium to long finish. This was a very pleasant surprise as it drinks much better than its pedigree. 91-92.

His was such a fun wine. Lush nose blackforest and fruit. So many flavors and notes with every sip. Dark fruit, olive, cedar, oak and chocolate notes. Velvety mouthfeel with a lovely long lingering finish. Delicious.

Dark ruby. Black currants, blueberries, pepper, and cocoa on the nose. Full-bodied and smooth textured. Earthy flavors of cherries and currants give way to chocolate on the finish. Good potential.

Opens up with thoughts of bright WA State style fruit to the nose, a la jolly rancher and tobacco. And just keeps on getting better. This has been a working great as an above average maintainence wine, but i'm starting to like this enough myself to want to stash away what's left.

Decanted for an hour or so, but poured one glass right after popping the cork. Aromas were initially plum & blackberry with leather, but the fruit went more to a black cherry smell. A slight hint of pine on the nose, but not too bad or overwhelming. A pretty light tasting Cab, with cherry flavors, but still would hint towards a darker blackberry taste; also some drying tannins at the end. I don't think I see this getting any better, and actually don't see it lasting more than a couple years.

drank with kelly and kyle looking at pics from his guatemala trip. such an inviting nose. round and fruity without being too big and hedonistic. dare i say, 'this is what wine should smell like'? not the most complexity, just a wine of fruit and substance. delicious.

This bottle surprised us...bought at whole foods on "sale" so we popped and poured into a decanter but didn't wait. It was decent initially and got much better the second glass from the decanter bout 30-40 min later. Opened up nicely, not as big as some cabs but still held it's own... fruit came out and nice finish. Will give the next btl an hour in the decanter and see how it does!

The profile is very typical of the 2007 Napa Valley Cab vintage. Dark fruit/licorice with great balance and structure. Opens up very quickly. Only issue I had with this bottle is some oaky tannins still present. I assume those will mellow in time and I'll rate this one 90+

Highly competent wine. We tried because we wanted an average winemaker to see if 2007 is as stellar as predicted. If this is an indication, 2007 will produce great cabernet. Nice blends of tannins, dark fruit and leather made you think you were drink better than $23/bottle wine.

Drinks very well right now, rich, ripe, but not overdone. It has gotten to age 8 very well. Good value, still room to improve.
