PnP. Medium to dark garnet, slightly translucent at the edges. Nice nose of eucalyptus, plum, vanilla and anise. On the palate, plummy, smokey, bright and easy to drink with just a little mostly integrated tannin. Nicely balanced with a fairly short but pleasant finish.

A bunch of wines with friends (Pine Lake Trout Club): Another nice Cabernet. Purple in color. The nose has cassis, some tobacco, cedar and spice. On the palate, there is very nice fruit. Juicy cassis. Some tannins. Good balance. Nothing wows, but the total package is better than the sum of its parts. Good finish. I don't think it get's better but no hurry.

Very nice Calif Cab. Decanted for 30 min or so before drinking -- opened up a bit through the bottle. At first, almost tasted like a Bordeaux. Nicely balanced, tannins well in check. Fruit integrated.

PnVnD let air for 1hr. drank over 2hrs. Classic claret color not saturated with violet to clear rim. Hugely complex aromatically with cassis blackberry raspberry lavender cardamom mint espresso and... Medium weight with silky tannin. Flavours almost echo the nose. Has that fabulous and elusive combination of huge flavours and complexity with elegance and finesse. Lingering incense finish. Gets better with air and lots of life ahead. Glad and sad I have only one bottle left.

This has rounded out significantly since release and is now in a good window. Juicy red fruit profile with some medium oak tones. Medium-full body. Fine grained tannins remain on the medium finish. Has the acidity to pair with several foods.

Good stuff - refined palate - not sure I would have picked out as a cali cab but definitely a cabernet based wine. Oddly slightly hollow in the middle - wonder if there was a whiff of TCA as this felt like it had the bones of something wonderful but just failed to deliver. I'm normally very sensitive to TCA so it may not be that but...I shall certainly seek out another bottle and if it's as wonderful as this hints at having the potential to be...this shall definitely be regarded as slightly corked.

Opaque reddish-violet color. Abundant vanilla on the nose, with a bit of baking spice, cedar wood and raspberry showing after some decanting. Palate is dominated by sweet oaky notes, with the fruit remaining tart and somewhat backward. The tannins on this are grippy, but the finish is abrupt. This may improve slightly with a couple years of additional cellaring, but my guess is that this will remain a fairly middle-of-the-road Cab. Fine to drink with some hearty food, but a bit too simple to stand alone.
Label states 13.6% alcohol, lower than most in the '07 cabs. Tasted flat out of the bottle. Gave it about 30 minutes in the decanter and it opened up nicely. Smooth, balanced and all components were well integrated. Fruit had faded some from the last bottle I'd had (August 2010), and there was less up front tannin and structure. Ready to drink now, and I wouldn't let it go much longer or the fruit and the more interesting structural characteristics will continue to fade.

disappointing. Tried this along with a number of other 2007 Napa cabs recently. The nose was more muted than with other cabs. Front end was missing any distinct flavor profile. Where is the spice and fruit? Mid palate and finish brought nothing more. Drank this over a long dinner hoping that a bit of time and air would help develop some character, but no luck. Sorry to say this, but I've tasted more fruit and spice in a $9 bottle of J Hahn than in this $30 bottle. Would try this again hoping I am wrong, but would not pick this to drink tonight.

This is my kind of Cabernet. It takes 30mins to fully open at this point. Loaded with tobacco, green peppers and wonderful ripe fruit. I noticed the bottle said 13.6 ABV; so refreshing. Drink over the next 5 years. I'm going to buy more of this...AMM

Great structure, significant, mouthcoating tannins. Significant, but not overpowering oak on the nose. Fruit was a bit restrained, but perhaps a good thing? I decated vigorously for 45 min-1 hour and it still didn't really open up. after 2 hours in the decanter really started showing good nose and tannins smoothing out a bit .I think cellaring will be in order, or heavy decanting if you want to drink now.

I was surprised by this as I was expecting a jammy napa cab (especially given the vintage), but I was instead greeted by an earthy and restraint wine, with dense black fruit and minerals. It is powerful but tannins are smooth, and could probably use a few years of aging. Excellent wine.

Good nose with plum aroma. Is fruit fed but is weak mid way thru finish is short lived. Overall an ok weekday wine.

Delicious! Medium purple color. Slow, thin legs. Soft cherries on the nose. Slight hint of pepper and tobacco flavor. Got "stronger"'as it warmed up (initially, was slightly watery). Ended up real nice!

Very excellent fruity nose, oaky taste and very smooth. But way over priced.

Nose: Blackberry and forest floor. Taste: A little less tannic than last time but similar notes - anise, tobacco, black fruit. Even more integrated than the last bottle.

Should have decanted like the previous bottle.

Surprised by restraint on nose/palate (except for a beam of Cali berry); otherwise gentle earth/mineral bent on a soft-spoken Cali cab. 50/5/11/14/8

Decanted for an hour and drank over the next two hours. Nose of chocolate and blackcurrant with a smooth cherry infused taste. Very long finish.

Delicate and subtle, but with a long complex finish. Wonderful. Can't wait to try the Rutherford.

Nice wine, over rated for now in my veiw. This wine needs use some time to develop - certainly not a pop and pour. Good, but not 94 points!

Nose: Chocolate, walnut. Very big and layered nose. Anise too. Taste: Black fruit transitioning to anise. Some tobacco on the finish. Still quite tannic and needs some time. Pretty good finish (20 sec). Nice.

I was surprised by this as I was expecting a jammy napa cab (especially given the vintage), but I was instead greeted by an earthy and restraint wine, with dense black fruit and minerals. It is powerful but tannins are smooth, and could probably use a few years of aging. Excellent wine.

K&L Charity Event. Nose of red cherry fruit, touch of oak and sage, more of the same on the palate, medium amount of soft tannins, better in 3 years, tasty, little thin based on expectation of tasting event, medium body and medium/long finish.
