10+ years of age seemed long enough. Very closed in upon first opening. Color is medium red with brick at the rim. Bouquet upon glass pour was closed in, but gave hints of classic cabernet. Significant "legs" gave the hint of full, smooth mouth-feel to come. Let breathe while preparing wedge salad, roast potatoes and prime NY strip. Upon tasting, found Cyrus to be smooth, in it's prime, but short on fruit and depth. Paired excellently with steak. It's a very, very good wine from a somewhat challenged vintage, but I question it's relative value. I like this wine, but wouldn't pay the price to get more.

I think this wine is past it's prime. Was a lot smoother when it was young. Now, seems to have become more tart and acidic. Glad this was my last bottle

Nice bordeaux blend, however hints of lower acidity makes me think it's slightly past its prime. Balanced earthy notes and soft tannins made for a pleasant finish. Would recommend drinking now.

At an awkward stage right now. May benefit from another year or two in bottle. Smooth now, but just not harmonized. Had 2010 earlier in week and was better.

Decanted for two hours. Cabernet Franc is adding to the complexity and gives a great "peak". Had it with a traditional "Beef Strogananoff" and it harmonized nicely. Stille some tannines, so it could probably be keept for a few more years, but still I would say it as at its best right now.

We tried two of these, the '10 and the '06. The latter proved to be more tannic and drier, still quite closed in despite its age; less merlot in the blend by all account.

Great blend. I also noticed the herbal notes mentioned in other comments which I believe it's the cab franc coming thru. I can see how some are put off but I thought it added complexity to the blend. This is always a favorite of mine. Drink now - it's ready to go with a good steak.

This blend opened up nicely after an hour of decanting and paired well with grilled burgers- although elegant enough to match with fancier fare. The fruit notes were darker and more subtle.

Slightly closed down and tight feeling. May need some more air to open up. Medium to full body. Red berry, earth, and, some forest floor. Dry gripping tannins.

Dark berries, hint of vanilla, spice, lead pencil, silky tannins revealed after a few hours of decanting. Slightly herbaceous but overall a sold offering. Cellar for another few years for optimal enjoyment.

Loved this wine with a nice steak on the grill. Excellent nose of cherry and blackberry. Both red and black fruit on the palate with some vanilla and spice in the middle with lingering finish of cassis. Soft tannins with very smooth mouth feel probably because it has some merlot in it. We usually drink a big Cabernet Sauvignon with steaks, and this was a delightful change of pace. Decanted for about an hour prior to drinking

Fruity nose. Light and balanced in the glass. The blend of 5 bordeaux varietals makes for a delicate and approachable wine. Both light and dark fruit with hint of oak. Tannins are soft and relaxed. Moderate finish.

Love this wine, good deal. Needed about 1 hour to open. The tannins faded a little bit and the fruit and body developed well over the next couple of hours. Had strong notes of cherry on the nose. Palate had moderate fruit and light oak and finished well. Perfect with a steak.

Decanted 2 hours and rebottled. Quite aromatic nose of black cherry with some smoked meat and a little toasty oak. Full bodied with lots of red and black fruits on the palate. There is a little heat which picks up on the mid palate. Secondary notes of scorched earth and cedar. the finish is about 20 seconds with moderate tannins taking a grip and the end. This is very good but i found it just a bit lacking in balance hence the lower score. Represents a good QPR and should improve so definitely worth consideration at $40 or so. (89+)

Tasted at HEB. Grand Champion of Houston Rodeo Wine Festival. Nice balance of oak and fruit with chalky tannins. Nice now if you like them young, even in better in 2-3 years.

Nice rounded with diminished tannins. Slightly smokey and a touch of blackberry fruit left. Delightful but trending to the end.

I love this because I like gentle older Cab, and at an 06 in 17 it is just that!

A bit disappointing. Smooth, but the complexity seemed to be unwilling to release. Decanting definitely would have helped.
