Possibly my favorite of the 4 bottles that I had. Really nice balance of old world earthiness and juicy red fruit with good overall balance. Very food friendly as well. A rustic Italian wine that was a killer QPR at the sale price paid.
Dark garnet color. Slightly muted nose with some earthy, soil driven notes along with some dried red fruit and a touch of savory herbs. Some dried cherry flavors on the palate with a dry mouthfeel and finish. Not much of a midpalate on this wine but overall it drank pretty well for the price paid. It is a perfect, rustic Italian red to keep around for midweek dinners. The acid was fading a bit so I probably would drink this sooner rather than later.
Herbal nose. Mineral, bitter tea on the palate. Decent acid/tannin structure, but I'd prefer more fruit. Decidedly old world and identifiably Italian. Best with food. Some will like this more than I. I "respect" it more than I "like" it.
