Very nice wine. Rich dark fruit dominates the palate with some currant and menthol. Tannins were still a little forward as was the acidity but they were balanced. Probably needs more time or a good decant.

Ramey makes some great wines. This one is a good drinker, but not stellar in my opinion. Price wise there are better choices.
Pencil shavings, cherries, cassis, leather, malt. Abundant sweetness and sap, will last.
Tasted on 8/11/12. Needed a lot more time in the bottle or in a decanter. Still very tight tannins, not well integrated.
lovely wine at the DUO kvarterskrog in Umeå, Sweden. Worked perfectly with the tungue of veal and celery with horseradish foam. Very "firely" and spicy.
Tasted Blind: Very approachable, elegant and food friendly.
Decanted for 30 minutes before drinking. Very dark, with a spicy nose. Heavy mouthfeel. Hints of graphite and blackberry, with a slightly sweet attack that gives way to a lengthy savory finish.
nice tie cab nose. ripe raspberries and blackberries. some gamey notes. the palate is sweet with ripe berries. missing some acid and in need of filling out. the tannins will support age.
wait a second. i actually like this.
2010 California Barrel Tasting (Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Washington DC): Very similar the 07 without the extraordinary nose
