Love it for what it is: a California cherry-bomb. In 2017, probably 7 years after its release, this wine still hits with an explosion of fruit on the nose. Cherry liquer and hints of spice. Thick, balanced, with enough acidic grip to keep this big Pinot from feeling flabby. Delicious.

I drank my other bottle in 2013, and this time it was even a smidge better than that excellent performance. Still light, supple, and balanced but with a bit more staying power in the finish. The spice and fruit is beautifully integrated. Perfect for the season. One of Kent's finest Pinots, in my opinion.

A big silky Pinot with wonderful fruit right up front accented with hints of baked spice. It's a great example of the big fruit forward Pinots that California has become known for. Not everyone's taste but I loved this wine.

14.7% ABV. Translucent ruby in the glass. Zesty black cherry nose. Medium bodied with tangy black cherry fruit. Great nose on the pop and pour. This is tasty, but a little one dimensional at the moment.

Precise and relatively light on it's feet. I love this style...maybe '08 is where it's at for RRV pinot. Nice fruit with a tart acidity, with just a hint of stems on the midpalate. Finishes with some tannic tightness. A few more years or a decant in the meantime. Update: after a few hours open (in the bottle, no decant), this becomes even better...richer, less "tang". Probably one of the best EK wines I've tried, though a limited sample set.

Sadly deficient notes. Baked strawberry nose. Rich palate, ripe red fruit and spice. Very nice.

This aged very nicely. The style is of a syrah maker who is making pinot - bold, spicy fruit with a silky finish.

One of the best domestic pinots I've had in ages. Delicate, floral, pure raspberry. Light on its feet, elegant, with staying power.

Amazing blend of rich fruit and tons of baking spice. One of the best I've tasted this year.

Light, thin, little body. Fruit is nice but lacks complexity. Nice to drink, but for the money, there is much better grape available.
